If you do that you will make 0 profit. You even run the risk of losing on the trade. Say you place a buy and sell. And a tp OF 30 POINTS. Once you tp gets hit, and it keeps running you will then actually lose equity because the only open order is now in red and eating away at the profit you gainned from the closed tp order. There is actually a very profittable way to hedge. You would have to use pending orders instead. Try to fiqure it out and I will help you connect the dots.

I took the difference between the 10 yr. T Bill daily rate and the 3 Month daily rate for 2012 and plotted it against the EUR/USD daily rate. There appears to be a fairly high correlation between the two... however it is not predictive of what's to come.

Currently I'm 33 pips in profit with my EU shorts, I just hope that this is enough leverage to keep me in profit during the fomc whipsaw

I agree totally. Naturally, I am a systems trader and been able to apply them successfully on all 10 pairs I currently trade. I have not applied them to "exotics" but plan too!

1.2890 has been support last 20 mins
1.2898 has been resistance within the sametime. I would like to see a break of the 1.2890 as it will give us a 20 point push up based on my scalping calculation.

Agree, do not enter contradicting buy/sell trades before big news. You WILL lose in the long run.

Even though from a layman's point, it SHOULD make sense due to the expected large movements that SHOULD be big enough to compensate for the loss, often it can whipsaw and up and down and can be so sudden and large that at best you will break even.

Open a demo account and try it out. See how many times you win/lose/break even. I should know, I used to think it could work.... lol

Short tf algos whipsaw everyone out but i am waiting till plots get into position where intraday algos (starting from 15min tf i guess), reverse.
