It's trying to go up, but if I were to long scalp this, here's why I wouldn't.

I am reading about this guy NIcolas Darvas, in 18 month took $25000 to $2.000000 pyramiding. Have you heard of this guy and do you know how he did pyramiding? Chicky?

I know if not mistaken that Livermore was risking 20% as the 1st entry and building from there.

i thought i had logged off. Pyramiding is adding to your position as the trend continues some say it can be risky if trend turns. i compound and i guess that is similar

that chap nicholas darvas, i believe he bought stocks at their 52 week high and he also traded using the box system which is sililar to one of the ways i trade

i am not sure about pyramidding but when i compound i have set goals such as i make 20 pips then close trade then re enter with a higher pip value (compound) so maybe that is what pyramidding is

Yes.

But I am not really concerned about the system but how did they to build up their stake, because I think that is the key. Livermore was putting 20% to test the market, when in profit he was adding more, but WHEN? When he was up 10% or 30% and how many entries would they have? Do you see what I getting on?

i know what you are getting at but i do not honestly know the figures he used. Quite often i trade x value pip with 20 stop loss once i make 20 pips i end trade, i then re enter ay 2x per pip for 20 pips then end it, then 4 x per pip etc... some might say its anti martingale but it isnt. and what i just said is the simplified version to get my message across lol. Take care all i am away very soon

Not heard about Nicolas, but there is a particular way of pyramiding, which is techincally not pyramiding. I am sure Nicolas would have been doing this if he managed to grow his account from 25,0000 to 2M in several trades and not just one. Jesse used to do the same thing. I never came across any of his statements saying how much he risked, but that is for sure it was way more than 1%,2% or 3%.
