i trade 1 or 2 lots on a $200 balance hehe crazy!
i used to do 1 min scalping, but not anymore, and RSI is not a good indicator at all, the best indicator every use for scalping imho is MACD, there are some good ones out there that are different from the basic ones on mt4. i use minimum min 5, candle reading with MACD,

macd is good because of volume/trend, after specific candle in green/red with wick/pin or in full body, near macd 0 or -0 i take the trade when it crosses
easily close in 1-3min time because the candle have to move up and down and its very easy to close check out all the specific candle at macd cross over u normally see a longer min 5 bar in either direction, this way u are not trend biased nor marry a trade, best use for monday-tuesday when everything is lighter.

i use a hard stop of 7 pips to prevent breakout, and if i am wrong early i get out, most of the time i can get in 3-5pips on good volume. it can even be use to catch a trend/breakout if u are good with trading hours/opening-closing , if u use a trailing ea.

thanks for you contribution and analysis, not sure how to read it, but have been reading the warning in red at the top of the excel document. Where did you learn to analyse like that?

200 US-Dollars wouldn't fit to that for two LOTS ...

Today is the first time in a while where the price hasn't been pushed up during afternoon NY session, while europe and London are closed. Possible indication of things to come?

This is right. You need to be able to see a small win as big $. If you trade $200 you have to make 25-50% wins to feel like you did anything. But, if you have $5000 in there you can trade 5 lots at 50:1 and your wins will be much bigger $ but much smaller %. No one can make 50% a day on their account consistently. But, many make 10% a month.

I wouldn't do it if I made less than that on $5000. Yes as it compounds your positions get smaller as a percentage of the account and so does the returns. Obviously you cant take $5000 and create billions after only a few years. But, risking 20% of a small account, like the $5000, should double by the end of the year. If you trade smart and take longer term positions. Scalping is not something where I see profitability. But, if people make money that way, go for it.

That's your opinion and I disagree with it. Problem is scalping requires discipline of steel. Entries have to be to the fraction of a pip. Most common mistake is trying to make a swing off a scalp. That never works.

That's annoying, almost as annoying as getting stopped out by 1pip before a major move. But these things happen and I'm sure you'll get your TP by 1 pip in the future.

The stopout seems to happen unproportionately more times than the TP.... makes you think about whats really moving the market

Trust me I've had my sl hit before daily major swings... and even on gold where its even more leverage... a 0.01 pip different between an SL and a few K in your pocket.
