oil dropped and strengthened the yen. the yen should make another try for the target min. it may need help from oil to do it. oil has a top formation .. but it has to break one way or the other to confirm. just below oil 97.66 may do it. oils going to 101 or 91.. if its breaks 94 it probably going lower.

making right calls on a website isn't important (making money off of it is).

if you widen your gaze a bit, you can see the micro management patterns of the macro economic equilibrium they're trying to maintain and capitalize off of the key reversal levels. until we have a real event which is not part of the overall range plan, this pattern should continue into the new year. a lot of people still think in terms of mark to market or real valuations, but that doesn't have a lot to do with the current script, so it's throwing them off a bit.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying.

If brokers didn't care about retailers, they wouldn't sponsor this site. No one cares how you trade (people do a good enough job on their own losing money) they just care that you lose your money with them.

This site serves two purposes. One is it creates the impression anyone can become a trader (which the punters in Interactive and Trading Systems cover off). The other is sales (which includes word of mouth recommendations).

Gorilla marketing on the web is low cost and effective, so it seems like a smart spend for them. That's what I was referring to.

Anyway, it's not something I give much thought to, but I do think a lot of new traders don't understand most of what goes on here, so they get the erroneous impression it's easy to make a living at this.

Saying trading is 10% technical, 90% psychological is an arbitrary measurement.

If someone hasn't conquered their emotional and intellectual weaknesses, they won't be successful at anything, including trading. Everyone is coming into this with different skill sets and experience so one size doesn't fit all in terms of necessary personal development.

The concept of trading psychology is played up to the point it can become a hinderance for some people. It really comes down to mastery of self and all the other pieces fall into place. But if you had to define the critical psychological element of trading, it's the ability to be at the center of what you're doing without interfering with the process. If you can focus on mastering this trait and the discipline it requires, the concepts of greed, fear, and other negative programming are irrelevant.
