The U.S. dollar edged lower against the yen on Friday, as investors continue to monitor the highly anticipated speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke amid growing speculation that the U.S. central bank signals possible member easing measures to boost growth further.

The U.S. Dollar was higher against the Japanese Yen. USD / JPY was trading at 78.44, up 0.23%.
The pair was likely to find support at 78.20, Monday's low, and resistance at 78.73, the high of Thursday.

of course nothing is sure and unlike others who are 1000% sure about things I'm not, but keep faith if you are bottom fishing or wait for major Yen weakness:

-the fundamentals are there
-the TA is here
-safe haven property is slowly diminishing

Position of retailer's longs is worrying for bulls though and prob. only will disappear when Yen collapses and retailers take profit (too soon).

Couldn't agree more with USD-Bear, this is free market, nothing is sure here, we can only get hints from technical/fundamentals analyst and try to play them well, and we will either follow the market or oppose it. Nothing is even 60 % certain, not to mention 1000 %.


From my view for this cross to get lower we need to still break 78.00 and 77.6x. Market already have discounted lots of fears connected with QE3, lowered dollar index really hard, and still couldn’t break those levels, so even if FOMC is going to drop QE bomb (which I highly doubt) it won’t have tremendous impact . On the other hand if they will say “Everything is cool guys, no need for QE” it should bust the dollar and by that weaken Yen.


Also Azumi is in a bad situation, the strong yen is a big problem for Japan export, and they need to figure out a plan how to deal with it. Even now the government is calling for BOJ to take together some action to weaken the Yen. So it could be a matter of time (and data from the next week) when they will take some action.


I don’t like trading the news, but this pair I highly driven by them, so I couldn’t go pass them. I believe they 78-77.60 support will hold and even if it would be broken, still we got 77-76 levels. So I am still in bullish mood and waiting for some good days to come

Luck or no luck (about which we cannot rather talk in this situation), doesn't matter, impressive entries and exits from the trades, really good work with swinging those trades!

Yeah, i perfectly know that it is not the case of luck(which hardly exists here), that is why i added "(about which we cannot rather talk in this situation)" and reasons behind your trades are good, round numbers always are "natural" supports/resistance, and can be used without risking to much and with good results. Was just admiring your nice execution of technical rules.
