Wish I could go back 48 hours (or even 24 hours) and enter long from there? Yes.
But I'm guessing by the time most traders start giving in and are ready to go long ... the market will be turning around.

But I think there is still a lot of time to get in (not today) and slowly build up only when right with large SL. (for big swings)

Scalping with one is tough, I agree. Especially the mini scalps. The 20 pip swings can still be done though.
Be hopeful in a winning position, and fearful in a losing position.

I don't like trading big economic releases for a few reasons:
1. You don't know for sure how the market will react and by how much.
2. By the time you get the numbers and place an order, the "big move" will have already taken place.
3. Even if you do everything right and are lucky, chances are your broker will try to screw you with execution delays and slippage and blame it on the "volatility."
Not worth the risk.
I'd rather the market stay in a logical, technical pattern that I can trade with sensible SLs.
This doesn't...
In position trading it does not, because we already taken the trades in the direction of the least resistance, in technicality and in fundi (both subjective, of course in my view, but the difference lays in the ability to filter).
So even if you have a negative data is not going to effect you as much but is only going to confirm your position if it comes straight back.
Also the negative data is not going to inflict as much when the weight is curried on the other side, of course a large protective stop is needed in position trading to overcome any eventuality.

Crude has pulled back $1.4 now, Dax is slowly dropping and EU is testing 1.275x again so things are starting to line up hopefully.

With a 20 pip swing and a stop averaging you out that small it is possible, but not with a retailer and you know it.
