I cant even believe it... heading for 1.2820

feels like just yesterday we were stuck in that boring 1.2240-1.2380 range

I would go as far to say as the best traders in the world would not be as good if they didn't have scalping in their arsenal. There are assets and currencies that you buy and hold (because they have heavy trend and little intraday volume and volatility) and then there is the Euro/Dollar

If you wanna get rich trading, simply invent a time machine so that you can back and trade all those missed opportunities.

Here is my take.

The upward movment to 3000 is still intact and the low of yesterday at 2561 will not be breached for at least another month or so.

Shorting, but this is short term scalping. I'm a bull now until PA + news says otherwise. Fuck those NFP numbers.

No PT is a great trader, and he has made a killing this year shorting Euro.

He just doesn't close his positions when Euro is extreme net short which I don't understand (or maybe he does but I saw a lot of open ones, they were probably very small trades) but like I said, he's up over 120% this year and he doesn't use leverage (as far as I know), so he makes a ton of pips, with very little risk.

120% over 10 years is astronomical.

So tempted to scalp short here. Short at 1.2770, SL 1.2780, TP 1.2755. Time to give back some pips to the market.

I don't like trading big economic releases for a few reasons:

1. You don't know for sure how the market will react and by how much.

2. By the time you get the numbers and place an order, the "big move" will have already taken place.

3. Even if you do everything right and are lucky, chances are your broker will try to screw you with execution delays and slippage and blame it on the "volatility."

Not worth the risk.

I'd rather the market stay in a logical, technical pattern that I can trade with sensible SLs.

This doesn't necessarily mean a "range" ... trends do happen and can be caught in time and have nothing to do with annoying fundamentals.
