agree it's very strong tech support at 1.2650, but it may not hold now. There was a barrier option there that was being defended and was touched. Now there will not be such strong defence if price pops up again, so will probably make new high.

Capital flow out of US bonds seeking higher yields overseas... as in EZ short term bonds and/or EZ equities.

I doubt that the PE's got to do anything here. I mean, there's always the PE reasons and they will be there in the future, but those guys are long term traders and doubt they caused the spike here. More likely, we were in a range within a range (SP500), liquidity got thinned out and then two pretty awesome news came out out of the U.S. Positive news blew up the inside range and thin liquidity took it all the way up to the next order block at the previous high made at August. Continued momentum took the advantage of killing the double top callers and took them out as well. Now, being in the new territory there's nothing really left anymore. Could easily be the top for some time now or start to consolidate to build up new orders and thus incentives again.

Draghi got little to do here because equities started to rally about an hour after the start of the ECB press conf. Plus, as you noticed euro actually plunged following Draghi's comments, so no positive momentum from the news alone.

All in all i think there were some internal catalysts there that got many to freak out rather than anticipated bullishness.

If u look at the 4H chart of SP500 you'll notice a strong inside range that developed 2+ weeks. You can imagine the incentives building from that range No wonder the reaction was severe.

If conditions warrant then the exact opposite can now occur. Many are seeing that breakout as a base for dip buying. Should QE and other hopiums start to wear off then those buyers, getting sucked in, could cause the market to plunge all the way below September low before stabilizing...I repeat: IF conditions warrant.

The opposite condition for now is elections.

Sure... it's called NEWS NOISE, or BEFORE NEWS NOISE
Some big orders have been cancelled by big institutions, some new orders being placed instead.
In case of “emptiness”, vacuum, price goes to the nearest possible orders.
This is why price get crazy during news events.

You make a strong point Lumesh and I certainly cannot argue against it. However, if it's all the same with you, my 4 cents says that PE is definitely a factor here, although obviously not the exclusive one

Analysts See Few Surprises In ECB Plan, But Many See Pitfalls

PARIS (MNI) – Financial market analysts saw few surprises in the
European Central Bank’s “Outright Monetary Transactions” plan, which was
officially unveiled Thursday, largely because most of the details had
been leaked ahead of today’s press conference by ECB President Mario
Draghi.

Some analysts were encouraged by the plan, the main features of
which are strong conditions on beneficiary countries; purchasing of
sovereign securities with maturities of three years or under; no senior
creditor status for the ECB; and more detailed public reporting of bonds
purchased – by volume, maturity and country.

Others, however, pointed to potential problems ahead even as they
conceded that Draghi may have bought time with the announcement. Some
noted the OMT plan could hit some headwind because it depends on the
willingness of governments to enact stiff reforms, and the track record
on that score has not always been great. Others argued that the OMT
program does not address the fundamental issue of economic and financial
disparities among Eurozone countries. Others noted that a deteriorating
Eurozone economy will need to be addressed.
