anyways from the way i look at the EURO
We might have 30 more pips here before going down to 1.2440-45 area before i go long till 1.27xx+ area....
but from the way the chart looks.. its still going down.

I don't know how many times I have read "the reason why 90% of traders lose is because .................. " fill in the blank.

Such as too little trading account, money they can't afford to lose, too much reliance on TA or FA or whatever, listening too much to others etc etc.

The number one reason I have found is like the fat, swishy sounding guy in the video they only think of how much they can win and not how much they can lose. Call it greedy. I call it stupidity.

Although human nature is to be optimistic, when you focus on potential losses the majority label you as being negative. Don't be like the majority (or listen to them), be profitable.

Assuming the trader has done their homework and has a good handle on where price is "likely" to go "before" they place the trade, You take profits at your target(s) or when PA gives good signs of turning. I say GOOD signs, not just little bounces at expected points.

For instance I took this EU short on Tuesday and held the darn thing all week. Mostly in the red at first, then a little green, red, green, red...you get it with this weeks stagnant market.

Being so frustrated with it I was tempted MANY times to take what I had and run when in profit. But I believed in two things...

1) I honestly felt I knew where price would likely go

2) My abilty to read PA "reasonably" well. <<That's what kept me in it along the way.

Reading PA is really important because as we all know, anything can happen. So just because I felt I knew where price may go, Doesn't mean the market will agree...LOL. So I try to be ready to adapt all the time. If you followed that trade through the thread, you'll see the thinking, worries and concerns along the way...LOL

I'm glad I held it.

May not be that pretty but I agree. It will probably scissor sideways more then drop hard at the JH event and recover upward although maybe not for days and days.

This Jackson's hole is making the pa all sluggish, what the guy is going to say anyway? The US is F@cked up.

I guess I am only going to initiate new positions from next week. I might do some scalping.

This is spot on, the best traders first worry about risk management and capital preservation, because in the end thats what gets you to the end of the day and to see the light of the next. Then come the profits with experience.
