No question is newbie question.

QE2 has less impact than QE1. Some expect that QE3 will have even lesser impact or no impact at all.

QE is supposed to reduce USD strength.

Maybe a newb question, and I did collect a couple of $$ on that move but I could have done more, so is there a rule of thumb when it comes to major announcements and when to close a position, like wait 2 miniutes or it averages 30pips.. anything like that that may help me collect more pips next time? I think I have heard it takes an hour for things to settle back in to the groove of the previous trading mentality.. Just looking for thoughts.. thanks

Depends on the line you are swinging. If you have sufficient resources it doesn't matter.

If you don't it is best to remain flat during "major" announcements and not try to be a hero.

Better to have your account survive to trade another day.

Well closed my short soon before the green candle. Bought it just before the news effect, made a profit I am done trading for now. Good luck everybody happy trading talk to you later.

Lol, these Euro moves make no sense. There's no big news, no economic data; I don't get it.

Unless something substantive happens in the Euro's favour that really changes the game, I believe the situation will be comparable to the June - July play out.

So wtf happened? My 30 lot position seems to have gone in the wrong direction? Happy that I'm just kidding, but what about the FOMC, QE3 after all or am I confused here?

long term my theory, is we continue up after the news orgasm is over.

another way of looking at this move, a chance to knock out the weak longs with small margins(read retail traders) and accumulate more at a cheaper price.

very good advice, Im sure I have a few new wrinkles on this one for one stupid digit on a bad order which I should be fine with, if I can survive this little spike...

So if i understand things properly the no QE3 thing is bad news for the Eur so all its doing right now is collecting stops? I'm sure with a little help from teh pro Eur camp as well while its moving, but gelerally just collecting stops, am I correct? thanks
