EU and Others, and Market Commentary:

At the beginning of the week I posted a chart showing bearish PA, perhaps a prelude to a move down, but cautioned that the same "moves" could take price higher. Price is now about 150 pips higher, and later today will happen two significant USD high impact releases. This could be what all the previous PA so far this week has been about; anti-USD moves to get better prices to build pro-USD positions, ahead of these releases. We can never know, but it is something to now take more seriously since there really has not been any other significant reason for the anti-USD moves up to now.

They did it just to make you mad. hehehe I would not be surprised to see a run down in the next few days. Probably spike to 1.2500 and then run down. You know the drill.

I agree, the 1.2500 area will likely be hit. I have rarely witnessed the pump before the dump not hit a whole number (and more likely a bit above). I think the BBs are saving that little drive up for the last minutes, so they can hit the stops on a lot of shorts just before they initiate the profit making run down.

As far as making me mad, no. I fully expected this, and that is exactly why I stated that the moves up might not be over with, and why we should not let a bear bias and the waiting for a short setup keep us from trading any good setup for a move up.

EA long term trend is down. This move up against the established trend is an opportunity take a short. I am using a lower time frame as the market moved twice its daily average range today. There is a nice hammer forming on the 4hr.

The EA is reacting to the strength of the EU which might be forming a flag on the H4, so yesterdays move might be the start of a bigger move which could test the daily down trend line at around 1.2750. The Aussie is also showing weakness against the USD and it is now near the bottom of its up trend channel.

We have data out of China tomorrow, if bad the Aussie will go down.

This is why I have a tight stop on this. I am looking to take advantage of the rollup move. Since there is positive interest for going short I am looking for that to provide the momentum to the down side.

The Euro is also under great pressure. All the of the largest investors in the world Rothchild, Soros, Buffet all entered large positions short against the EUR. I believe any rally will be for them to obtained the desired shorts. Rothchild shorted the euro to the tune of 200milliion dollars. I would say he knows something. The banking systems of Spain and Italy are in a tail spin and have no liquidity. No one will lend them money over night. This is similar to the Leman default. Also yesterday when the EUR was tanking Reuters 3000 exchange was shut down and has not come back online since. Right when they went down the EUR started to rally odd..... There has been very little discussion of this. This is even more odd the second largest FX clearing is down and no one is talking about it.

The EUR rallied yesterday because the German member of the ECB board backed the bond buying program and thus eliminated any doubts that the German Banks would get their way. The market wants to see the ECB stabilize Spain and Italy Bonds which I believe it will do, Germany are not ready for the collapse of the EUR and it is well oversold due to all the uncertainty, it only takes a little good news to move this pair 200 pips in less than 1 hour. Only time will show if the flag I see is Bullish, but if it is then get ready for a similar move on the EA.

BTW it would not surprise me if these investors you mention are doing completely the opposite to what is reported. If I was going to short by 200 million in a market where trillions are traded every day I think I would keep quite about it, 200 million would be a nice SL or option to take out.

The swing high has been violated. Will look for the next setup.

AU, EU and GU Comment:

This will sound like it is coming out of left field, and maybe it is. But here it goes....

If the USD gets good news, then these will drop. Now, having the euro drop against the dollar is a very delicate issue. A solution would be to hike them all beforehand. They were. The Aussie has been stronger against the USD than the rest, over months. And hiking it might be less justified. Well, there was an "intervening" release the market knew was coming,....an excuse (no matter what the content) to bring it right back down. It was. Now, that leaves the Pound up against the USD. No excuse there to work it right back down, and some "balance" must be maintained between the Pound and the Euro without due cause for otherwise. So, by the luck of the stars, the Pound remains postured, like the euro, with a built-in cushion for any fall that might start should the USD get good news.

Of course, if the USD gets good news, it could just be ignored as has happened so often in the past in order to save the Euro's hide. But too much such behaviour and the market becomes suspect. Can't have that happen if you want the sheep to stay around.

Market Comment:

Ok, the post above was fun. Is that what really has been happening? Only God and a select few in the market really know. There are always a variety of reasons that can be dragged out to explain price behavior. It doesn't matter what they are, or if they are true or not. Prices move the way they will move, for whatever reasons known or unknown, and we just have to deal with it.

This points out the validity of simply "trading the charts" and exercising sensible money management. There is no other way, because at any time PA can do "whatever" no matter what reason or logic would dictate, or what the technicals and multiple time frames of PA have been suggesting, or what the "talking heads" have been saying.

And the Sonic R. System "...lets the market decide" while we "...trade what the market gives" in an elegantly simple and effective way.

Very interesting information. Where did it come from? I understand that information on significant trading activities that go thru different channels than do our trades, is not released for at least 3 days following such transactions (so far as our trading platforms go, they never show up). Furthermore, it is not advantageous to the "investor/trader" for such information to be made public, at least not while the transactions are underway and still incomplete. Of course, afterwards, publicizing the information could only help those that already have their positions.

Article was on ZeroHedge.com. I believe his investment trust had to file information about his position and this made it public information. I will see if I can find the link.

Both your charts show a nice PA wave formed. However, you do see that any suggested entry is not during the LS? So, you sort of risk entering "after the race is overwith" and before the next race gets set up,....and no telling what that will look like. Your bold lines mark a conservative EP. The one "sell" line on the AU chart seems way to late. If your plan is to just scalp out of the asian session, don't delay your EP off a decent setup, and don't gamble on getting much more than 10-25 pips, normally.

Hi TAH,

Thanks for your input. By 'LS' you mean London Opening times right? I did realize that it is recommended to trade in the London and NY Hours, specially during their overlap for best volatility.


However, since I am newbie, I was trying to find setups to see if I understand them. Later I can start using these setups at the Lnd and NY hours : )
