I haven't looked at it properly yet but in certain markets entries provided by QQE (orange lines) can be similar to Genesis (green lines) but they generally come after Genesis although the difference in pips is very little.
On some occasions it can keep you in a trade for longer but on others it will whipsaw you too.
I'm not convinced yet that it can operate as an extra entry filter or as an extra confirmation,...

Poh, EA ended up doing just that but I don't know if anyone could have caught that move up; some people use the M15 MTF arrow (the 3 arrows same colour) on the M5 TF as an extra filter for entry but even that would have whipsawed you too. You rarely get so many M15 conflicting signals so close to one another expecially when the market is actually moving!
If anyone got good pips out of that one then congrats.

Yeah I saw not long after my SL got hit it had a nice move up 30 pips or so, it's all about the experience though. If I looked at the chart maybe 1 hour later I would have gotten to nice move, there's always next time.

Edit: I should have waited for S1 retest.

Thats why some of the people that trade the M15/M5 arrows don't go in on the M15 arrow, but wait for the M5 signal after the M15 shows, doing it that way there would have been no whipsaw and no trade until the last long.

Definitely the safest way to trade on M5:
1) wait for M15 arrow/matrix
2) wait for M5 arrow/matrix signal going the other way
3) when you get your next arrow/matrix signal it will be in the same direction as the higher TF and if all else agrees, enter the trade.
You'll get a lot less trades but also fewer losing ones.

I think sticking with the rules one understands will serve one's trading results..it might mean missing the moves that dont fit your criteria, but thats not a problem..the markets not going anywhere..in fact, this party is going to get a lot more interesting in September when the German Constitutional Courts rule on the EU deal.

Personally, I dont allow for a large SL; 11 pips is the max I'd go..even at risk neutral with partial position closes..I really dont like draw-downs.


Bottom-line:

* Adapt the system to you, respect the formal rules (dont brake them without exceptional reasons)
* Dont take a trade, if to you, it doesnt make sense (it will keep you out of bad trades..and some good ones..BUT it will keep you out of bad trades)
* When you do decide to get in, watch your MM

Yelena, I love your posts although I read only quoted versions and they are super educative (I mostly miss your posts in the real time) . Therefore, I am kindly asking you not to delete them.

I was wondering whether there was perhaps an "MTF Arrow" indicator posted in this thread? I would like to display the arrow from different time frames on the same chart. I apologize if this was already mentioned, but I was monitoring this thread for few weeks now and I haven't seen it posted.

A bit less profit? I don't know what's "a bit less" for you. Look at the attached candlesticks bar chart because the Heikin Ashi Charts prettify the picture of the charts.

You are new to forexfactory so I will answer you nicely. On evry page of every thread there is an attachments hot button in the upper right corner. click it and you will open a new window that displays all images and other attachments that have been put into the thread. You will find what you are looking for there.
