I am not saying other strategies will not work for everyone with risk management. Scalping seems very lucative and very tempting so I experimented.

I failed 3x @ $2,000 profits transferred from regular accounts.
First attempt from$2,000 to $29,000 less than 1 week before MC.
Second attempt from $2,000 to $19,000 less than 1 week before MC.
Third attempt from $2,000 to $3,800 less than 2 days before MC.

From first to third trial showing diminishing return. No fourth attempt as it might get worse. During one month trial has adversely affected the way I treated my regular accounts.

I think the failure was mentally unprepared/uncapable with high leverage 1:500 and no MM. Theoretically was fine but when in front of the screens all gone.

I think succesful scalpers are in-human. They are of special breeds with very good hand-eye coordination and muscle memory and reflex with the mouse without taking much time to process the visual informations.

Back to my holy grail

Trading with 100k should take no more time than trading with 1k.

Trading with 100K is a lot easier than trading with 1k.
But still not enough to make a living from trading ==> min 400k

That's why we have weekends

If i would have 100k i would probably spend it on my GF, go for a long vacation and buy enough rum for rest of my life.

Also leave 5k-10k for forex

less risk = assurance you can feed your family.

1. I personally believe there are very less retail traders who can invest 100k USD for a Forex acct, which they can consider as Risk Capital

2. Trading with 100K USD is easier but arranging it tough in first position

3. Trading with 1K is better option and then it will take 2 yrs to make the capital double if you follow the proper money management rule and try mitigating the risks by not taking more risk on your equity per trade.

I have seen calculation on Excel sheets incresing an Account lets say 1K 2% per day and when I drag the formula for next 30 rows it really feels good as on paper my Account is really increased 170+ %.

Problem is the formula does not capable of considering drawdowns or the loss in between.

If somebody able to arrange and trade on 100k acct that is good for him but in practical it is not any good example for a retail trader.

A retail trader with less than 10K earning consistently 2% per day is good provided he is able to close his open positions atleast weekly / not carrying losing positions more than 3 weeks and able to close the month in positive with no losing position.

Less consider a whole year
I would gladly go with 10 % on 100K rather than 100% on 10 K
Same amount... lower risk on the 100K
It's a no brainer. at EOY there is agood chance you will still have 100k
... for the 10K a good chance it's all gone.

But the same idea applies for any amount.
That is why it's so hard to pay for food and electricity on a 10,000 dollar account

Actually idea may vary if the amount is variable.

I am agreed with your point, An account of 100K$ is always better than a 10K$ acct.

Person with 100K$ have the following benefits:

1. He can feed his losing trades longer time.
2. He can easily make money with higher leaveraged trade.
3. He can open many positions in a trading day.

Question is are you going to wait till you have 100K $ in your account as a Risk Capital which means your daily life is not going to get effected even if you lose 100k$? And who said you can lose the money only by doing wrong trade? What if your broker shuts down? Can you take legal action?

1) If you were paying your bills with your forex account and you lose your trading capital then you are out of a job and your daily life will be affected.
2) Not a good idea to start with a lot of money. What I am saying is based on knowing how to make money trading .... not losing money trading
3) You should not place lots of money with a broker with no guarantees.
Most MMs are not suitable.

IMHO

1. Tight SL with higher Leaverage ~ Wiping up Account Equity quikly.
2. Tight SL trades tends hit the SL quickly than TP ~ More tight SL trade = more losing trades.
3. Broker SL hunt ~

ive had problems with that, but its mostly just because of wrong entry

now i just watch retracement levels (support & resistance)
