Rules and recommendations.....the recommendation is to trade only the London session. It means entry should be only in the LS. My GU short trade entry followed the close of the LS, but still in the US session. There is no "Rule" against this. However, by trading so late in the day, I am gambling on activity that might not come. So, obviously, this is higher risk. The setup is there, but the activity for it to gel might not be.

Didn't you take trade a I marked it in orange. Do you feel it is not good? I can see drgaon is sloping in a good angle? We can take risk inside LS instead of outside LS.

GU ADR is 115. Today nearly 103 pips moved.

Market Comment:

In a couple hours US Treasury Sec. Geithner speaks, a medium impact event. And tomorrow there are USD high impact events, including the ADP Non-Farm Employment Change. The market might move between these events to narrow any gap between existing prices and where the market feels the pricing should be, based on anticipations. Such movement can happen, though that it might happen this time is purely speculative.

AU:

A possible "bias changing" PA waveform is developing. Three TPs are illustrated, all within a 100+ pips possible swing down. An EP that is higher than the black horizontal might be considered. This is just a "heads up" illustration.

Ok guys. I need to ask a favor of everyone.

I need you to all line up and everyone take a turn slapping me!

I had set a target of getting over the $100 mark on my account balance by the end of July. I actually reached it at the end of the day Monday and then I go and make a totally stupid trade today that cost me $10.

I did EVERYTHING wrong on the trade, so I certainly deserved what I got. This just shows how difficult it is to discipline myself.

Hi ArtfulDodger,

You realised your discipline issue therefore no need for me to 'slap' online in anonymity. No need to be so hard on yourself. You cant possibly see 'real' results after so few trades. My mentor/coach told me to eveluate performance after 100 trades, then every 300 trades over a longer period to get a good performamnce of any system.

I've been through similar situation with one of my trading account during the last 4 months and only managed to recover back to my starting point closing end July. See my equity graph attached.

What I did was to refocus into Money Management, Position Sizing, Risk Management ( reducing my trade risk), evaluate my Trade Management on how I plan my Exits and Re-entries.

Just some thoughts:

1. Discipline requires time to cultivate and it is often influence by the way we manage our trading psychology.
2. Money has a big influence in the way we determine Risks in trading.
3. Account size sometimes has also influence the way we discipline ourselves while trading. $100 compare to say $1,000 will make some difference when we make trading decision. Hence if you increase your account szie to $1,000.., then your discipline will improve significantly. If you want to multiply 10xtimes that, you will make a major breakthrough. in quick time.

Hope this helps a little, instead of one big 'slap'... I rather pat you on your shoulder.

Discipline is a learned trait, not a natural trait. Every new day discipline is to be, or not to be, by determination of the individual. People don't "master" discipline, they get into the habit of it. And, if they get lax, the habit can be broken and replaced by one not so good.

In this, there is good news. That everyone without discipline is just a matter of determination away from it. And the more days a person determines to exercise discipline, the closer it becomes to a habit.

For everyone, discipline is a daily decision to be made. Discipline is what is done, and determination is the force with which it is done,.....daily. In that, all of us are equal, both those currently with and without the discipline habit.

And discipline is important, probably the most important aspect to all of trading.

Hi,

Yesterday was another day of consolidation. I see AU failed to make HH and sign of a structure change which may cause a bearish correction. Let see if this will turn into a new bearish trend.

Yesterday, Domas4 posted some very good charts and explained the waves and how he traded EU. I learned so many thinsg from him yesterday and put these into practice in this AU pair. See attached.

Let me know if these do not conform to sonicR, anyone please.

Edit:
Please note I use broker with server time GMT00 so my H4 high low may not be the same if you have a different server time. Important thing is to use it consistently when trading.
However, if you follow the waves in lower TF like M15, the highs and lows are more important than watching H4 period Hi-lo.

My reason why I use H4 Hi-Lo is becasue it had become a habit that I look at my chart every four hours follow my local time here. And also another reason is because trade bar/candlestick patterns like IB, DIB, OB DBHLC, etc, just a few frequently occuring patterns on H4 and D.
