From looking purely at the chart and PA can you determine whether a short covering is in progress or a 'real' rally caused by buying or is it more reading between the lines as to the feeling and emotions of the market participants?

He he he, thanks for your answer PT, much appreciated. Keep us in the loop when you go short. if we get beyond 1.2, I have 1.232 -1.234 and then close to 1.24.

I am still long 1.215 (small stake as countertrading), where I closed all my previous shorts. I am now looking for a good place to reload S...

The higher it gets the better as far as I am concerned.

I am just wondering if the market is really buying this? Nowotny made a comment that ECB is willing to grant the ESM a banking licence to tap into the ECB funds... do they really buy into that?

Doc, Nobody I know is psychic. The fellow you mentioned is Adam Button from Forex Live. He's usually very good at predicting what the market will do. Obviously he's not always correct, but what he said makes a lot of sense and he was in fact right about what the big boys do in those situations. However, no single big boy controls the market. If this particular one had the power to push price down to 1.20, I am sure he (they) would have. I don't think that when somebody is wrong a few times out of many, that you can use him (them) as a contrarion signal

I am sure there were buyers involved, but the majority was definitely short covering. All you have to do is look at the COT report. No need to have a gut feeling about it. It's all in black and white, published every Friday by the CFTC.

The ECB cannot grant a banking license to a sovereign bailout fund. It would be a breach of treaties and against their mandate of not financing sovereign states. The only way the ESM can get a banking license is if all 17 EZ states allow it. What Nowotny said was out of line with the ECB stance and is very typical of Nowotny.

Well PT and Fudomyo both told, beware thin market, watch the news. And bam. For the last 2 months, I am at computer every single day. And as soon as I decide to help my family, because there are no news coming out, Draghi jumps out of bushes and says this cr@p.

Guys, did any of you know he was about to have a press conference?
