dave94, you were right to ask, why such a sudden spike upwards, because simply by saying that markets simply ebb and flow wasn't really much of an answer, because this move was not merely ebb nor flow, it as a 50pip spike in less than a minute. The reason, for me anyway, is a technical one, and the London traders jumped onto it en masse. Moving averages on my 15m chart were showing me that momentum was changing to the upside, The 61.8% fib retracement was tested twice from yesterday's low, once last night, then again at 01.45 London time today, and again just before 8am this morning. There was then a classic hammer formation candle on the 15m TF which closed at 8am, above the 61.8% fib, finding support on the 100TS MA, and from this, immediately, the price rocketed. These are just the kind of things you've got to be aware when trading forex.
