i use multiple free and talking fx, i received audio on talking fx on London about Spain news then negative interest , text some time delayed due to refresh interval

this is classic account wipe out territory

firstly those that were short from these lower levels just got stopped out.

some will have then panic bought and are now long sitting on little if not minus pips.

what happens next - some retrace, so they jump and switch position short saying they were right all along.... only to find that was profit taking and it goes up again....

what are the lessons here -

don't keep switching this action will kill your account
don't panic trade tops and bottoms of spikes
have a reason for all your trades

My experience with spikes like these is, that, more often than not, they tend to mess up PA for the remainder of the day. Would you agree?

working well for me while intraday/Live trading, because then I have my emotions better under control^^

Very true buddy. Some pal of mine at DailyFX thinks that using the term "trading" is in itself wrong. It should be managing margin. Everyone should consider the effect on equity...every net long or net short move creates.

sometimes but I don't think these were big enough for that.

what experience does tell me is that they are often a good indicator as to which way the market wants to go - even if it retraces first.

that news was not enough to cause these spikes, which started in the indicies... it was just an excuse to unwind the tight market a little and balance some books imo.

I declared yesterday that I was sitting aside from shorts because I didn't feel the EU had much more to give at the moment without retrace, so I am looking for continuation of this move now but we shall see
