not to bring friction into your room i agree with what you say, the only differance is when i trade i want to stick with my money. ie if in doubt get out. Watch your charts for a re entry, take care buddy

i will second it.totally agree billy.if i lose money thats becos of me and if i make money then thats becos i am lucky,no third way for me.

Due to my tight schedule this week and won't be able to monitor the trade closely, I have closed all my shorts from my 3 accounts and total gains are + 455 pips. GL to all friends and traders and with many green pips.

if you/me make money it isnt luck lol.it is due to going along with the market and i think the (luck) part might be if a person doesnt have a clear plan. i have to admit that i do have or would have problems with exits but i am happy with 20/40+ pips and wait for triggers and i do compound, and obviously i do pick up spikes, take care

EUR/USD in no hurry to bounce

Since sliding below 1.2050 we’ve not shown much inclination to bounce, indicating the market is comfortable sitting on its sizable short. Short that is, unless you are a retail trader. In that case you are likely sitting with a long that is well under water and you’re praying for a bounce.

The magnetic attraction of large 1.2000 barrier options may prove too strong with the market a mere half-cent away for much of a bounce until that level is overcome.

Why would 1.2000 attract the market? Let’s suppose you are one of the big dozen or so banks (or all of them) that dominate the options markets and you have sold options to customers who have bet that EUR/USD will stay in a predefined range.

If you are a market maker exposed to a 1.20/1.30 DNT (double-no-touch), for instance, you have much greater risk potential than you do the potential for reward. Therefore, if you get the opportunity to trigger important barrier levels, you do so, even if it ends up costing you a little money. In so doing, you eliminate large potential payouts to clients that would be paid out if the DNT remained intact at expiry.

i guess it is like, one who is prepared is one step ahead or partially in control. i do know what you mean. and with that my friend i am away. I have spent the last 2 days on my boat taking in the sun (and trading) and my friend has gone back to spain and i am sad, take care all.

I know, it is stupid. But I am targetting 1,14. thats 666 pips below. And the current price is. ,20666. As I said, stupid. Yo devil, are you watching?

Hovering just above the 150 extension of June retracement, with a low 5 pips above the 178.6 extension of the July 13 retracement. 4hr candles unable to close below 150 extension (1.2057) so far.

E/U 1hr so far this week

But in all seriousness most people, myself included, get too caught up in the moment and can loose sight of the 'big picture'. Example A: The US economy.

If someone from Mars were only to watch the political ads they would presume that everyone in the US is unemployed and that everyone lives on the streets and there aren't any jobs...the reality however is very different. While the state of California has 9% unemployment the state of Virginia has 4.9% unemployment! Foreclosures are rampant in Florida but home prices are rising in the Dakota's. The thing is this, when you take a balanced approach of the US economy it really isn't as bad as some people would have you believe.

The problem with Greece however is this - they have been supported for way too long and they have been living off the generosity of other nations and bank loans. In August when they (Greece) finally runs out of Euro's that's when the true potential of a EZ breakup will become painfully evident to the 'big money' players and it will be Argentina redux.

Looking at the weekly EUR/USD charts the low in 2010 was 1.1876 in June 2010. One month later the pair was trading between 1.24-1.28 and it continued to rise.

Looking at the chart it looked like the recover of the EUR/USD was V-shaped and the pair was nearly back to the Nov 2009 high.

Is anyone aware of why the recovery was so sharp? Was it totally related to QE1, followed by QE2?

My guess for downside is an option barrier at 1.20 that will be heavily defended (only a guess).
For upside 1.21 and beyond that 1.2120-30
