I think you've got it: spikes' at 1700 NY time, which is EXACT time of rollover according to web. I'm sure it can't be traded.

Looks like bear trap is full of bears... stairstepping seems to have ended - now plain old wild stop run channel to the moon? Breakout just now, but price bouncing off familiar old 2285 from June 1st:

If you mean UJ, would be consistent with general stop hunting of long dollar positions across board past 8 - 10 hours.

Thank goodness the banks and brokers (in the US anyway) got their crony capitalist buddies at the CFTC to pass the NO HEDGING RULE so that inexperienced traders far under water couldn't neutralize their exposure temporarily! ...you know: when they finally realize it is going to get much worse before it gets better (the old irrationality - solvency thing).

It is just SO hard for those institutional guys to make money (or steal it or whatever)...

Personally, I feel the FIFO rule did more to screw the inexperienced trader

Martingale traders now have to work with an entire position rather than clip the winner/ carry the loser


Those are probably the only two that affected me - it did however make me take a closer look at my entries

some one said if you open 2nd trade little bigger (1.00, 1.01...)than 1st one you can close 2nd one first , as i don't have fifo rule no way to test

Interesting. I've never tried either of those strategies (not to my liking) - read many FIFO complaints with no explanation - I suddenly understand.

My perspective doesn't so much have to do with screwing anyone or not - after all, forex is a game (some might say a carny game) where service business managers can set rules if traditional contract law allows - potential customers can walk away if they like... the market place can decide these things imo.

For example, if enough customers want no FIFO restrictions and want to hedge, some broker will offer them, and competition should decide whether it works or not. Personally, I would be happy if most brokers decided VOLUNTARILY not to offer hedging because that would tend to drive volatility up - and I LOVE volatility. The FIFO thing I have no opinion of...

But many US brokers didn't want to offer hedging AND they didn't want to be subjected to competition; so, they got a rule passed to prevent ANYONE from offering it (same for FIFO and >50:1 leverage).

These things should be left to the market place; not some ex-Goldman crony piece of shit with a shabby excuse about saving a couple pips on an extra position (I suppose "Smiley" over at GS cooked up the internet campaign and the rest of it). Same for the leverage rule ... a more complicated issue but the idea is the same.

The rules violate a person's right of simple self-determination. These are in-your-face examples of the kind cronyism that infests our entire government (I'm in the US). If ten years from now a jack-booted brown shirt shows up at the door of the property that you bought with the money you made trading forex... with an invite to a FEMA camp because some goverment crony wants to use your property for a personal purpose - the irony would be.........

Very true, with Oanda if I open a trade 25000 units and then 25001 units I have nothing to do with fifo rules, they are totally separate trades.

I can even open 2 trades same size 25000 units and then sell 1 unit to separate them because the first one will then be 24999 units.

For me there are 2 bad things about the Dodd Frank sucker law.

What I described to separate the trades this way is more work, need to do it manually and sometimes you can forget.

And I can no longer trade gold with leverage, only leverage 1:1 available which eats to much capital in relation to possible profits.
