And thats the answer for farting riddle. Charts are lagging. Ofc they are. But there is one big BUT. Which is the point of CMan. I you see some lagging chart of an asset move, with sufficient fundamental background, you can use it to determine, where the money will be flowing. In that case, chart becomes leading indicator.

So guys, imo you are both right. Charts are lagging, but if you have sufficient knowledge, they can be leading.

To wrap it up in an example:

Dow is going down = investors at NYSE are gaining USD for selling their stocks. When regarding to Dow, chart is already lagging. But I know, those investors now have loads of USD for their sold assets and they are going to park those money somwhere, for example treasuries. In this case, Dow chart becomes leading indicator for price of treasuries.

I don't disagree with you Doc. Fundamentals, I have learnt the hard way, is what drives Forex more often than not. What I was asking CMan (CurrencyMan) was what he was looking at in order to determine where the money was going in his statement "Follow the money flow between asset classes they lead the charts".

There is only one thing you can look at. And that's a chart. He still has not replied to both PT's question and mine.

Based on your fundamental belief of where you think the market is going, you typically look at a chart to determine your entry and exit points. I say typically because not everybody does so, like in the case of Wolf. I am a visual type of guy and need to see the charts. Wolf is probably an auditory type person and doesn't need visual confirmation of something he already sees in his mind's eyes.

I still believe the Euro will go down, but I think we need a 200+ point correction before heading south. Based on this view, I am playing the formation I saw on the chart this morning. I choked my trade at 25 pips and took profit because after reviewing my last week's trades, I noticed that had I taken profit where I thought I should be taking my profits (stated TP levels with the charts I've posted), I would be up a whoping 60% of where I closed my trades. So I was leaving more money on the table than I wanted to. This week I plan on correcting that

I am current long again from 1.2225 and plan on taking 1/2 profits when it hits 1.2281 as this is today's S1 level or if it hesitates at 1.2273 which is the 138% extension of this morning's pop after retracing to the 50% level.

Anyways, I'm still waiting for CMan's answer.

Chaos here right now as we have a mid sized forest fire started up behind our development, so 3 helicopters and a spotter plane whilst we wait for the Canadair Water-Bombers.......so not the best enviroment for trading!!

I took the same sell as PT and others earlier at 2238, but without a coloured volume bar, later, I took profit at the lower edge of the ribbon - the 34 SMA. IF I'd been able to think more clearly, I'd have picked up on the lack of serious selling volume after the 2 wide ranged high volumed green candles after the data and taken a buy.....

Now, higher volume IS coming in as price stalls at the days open level and as its coming to the European Close, so IMO some profit taking.......what will the afternoon US Session bring??.....either way, I'm having a cold San Miguel whilst watching the whirly birds.....

Hesitation here at the 123% after peaking at 138% extension.

Out +40 on this trade. I may have choked it again, but the TDI on both the 5M and 15M chart is overbought. The hour chart still has room to go though...

Well guys, I have made my decision and I am going to listen to my paranoid me. Someone is intervening in the market to prevent breakdown before Bubbles testifies. That beeing said, I wont enter any trade untill I know how market reacts tomorrow. I think, that no matter what he says, market will be bullish after his speech . So cya tomorrow, I am going to get drunk.

I am watching the Dow go down from 30 to down 100 though now it is holding at 30 and as I continue to see it go down with occasional exceptions the money flows in good part to the US Bonds.

The momentum is set and so EUR/USD will go down most of the time as it makes up 57.2% of the US Dollar Index.

Now if all of a sudden like on Friday ALL is GOOD with the World in the USA and then we have Risk On we see how on Friday ALL boats moved up including EUR/USD.

I think you get my point by now.

I smell a FART and I know I need to get away from the STINK so my Momentum is heading out the door. The CHART if there is one of me leaving the room will soon record my movement.

The less it STINKS the more it goes UP. Then we have which Currency STINKS less.

Nice one, that's the 40 I missed watching the fire planes and deciding if I needed to think about loading up my cars.....whilst I agree, there's still room to go up, I guess we might have to wait until the European Session to find out.....

This economist and newsletter author has been ahead of the curve for the last 5 years. His article of July 12, 2012 is quite revealing. Others that I follow like Grant Williams Hmmmm that PipTrapper posts a link to each week says the same thing. Read his piece and see if you get the same sense of things that I do.

She never did. She was a "hands off" mother. I had nannies raising me, feeding me, cleaning me, dressing me, taking me shopping for clothes and shoes. Yup, most say I was pampered but in reality, I was dragged around, abused and hated. It was my mother that was pampered. How's that for a paradigm shift?

Nice play Bro. I stepped out so I left the trade unattended and it is now slightly underwater. No worries though. I'll keep it coz the Euro is going to hell anyway.
