not much excitement on nfp today wasnt here for the time. had pending short st 435 but didnt get there. was expecting higher move up before further down. but anyway another short triggered at 345 for 30 pips tp. maybe we can see another leg down, but market looks exausted. or we will se some profit taking later on

I believe if all else remains equal you are correct. Bad US = Good EUR... But ECB cut rates / predicting bad future etc etc - yesterday's news... US is also bad, therefore risk off (EUR investment = Risk on). That is not to say however that current situation will remain - expect a lot more volatility for future especially with so many countries bringing out bad news -> all risk off indications. The more interesting question is why is gold and silver down / unch?

Ps. This is just my thoughts and I don't claim to be all knowing

my sentiments exactly. I was expecting some kind of retrace after ECB yesterday. But still more downside. This data surely should of gone in favour of the euro today

Thanx. I have learnt this 1 already. I know euro is up the creek without a paddle but NFP surely should of been bad for dollar and good for gold

LOL. I already said time and time again not to bet on US figures on risk currency pairs or let US numbers affect your analysis because US figures will only confuse you.

But no one ever listens do they?

I had a nice run on USD/JPY on NFP numbers and that went exactly as planned.

Thanx Esssex. I dont pay attention to the news at the best of times because it usually reverts bk to the trend or course that it was originally on. Just didnt expect it to trade the way it has been doing today though
