i think it would be safer to wait till after the ecb rates, or sell on the break of the recent low..the AUD trade balance was quite good, it still has a good swap incentive...Gold is still up...we wld need a major bearish sentiment to push this pair down....just my 2cents...

agree with that. traditional reactions to things like interest rate are out of the window at the moment. If something is seen as a possible solution to the big problem then it can be recieved positively instead of negatively.

Also, everything is always priced in reality, expectation, hope (for those that use that) etc. which is why often you will hear....

"but the news was good so why did the price go down?"

because expectation is already in.................................

too many factors impacting the currencies at the moment to even stand a chance of getting a sentiment forecast correct.

what I can guarrantee is that the chart has all the guess work taken out of it what you see is what is known/expected.

it does not mean there won't be a reaction but predicting the reaction is extremely difficult even if you know the result in advance

The sooner you take profit the more safe. Forex is unpredictable anyway and it depends on you how much risk you want to take. 25 - 30 pips per day will make you about 150 pips per week, 600 pips per month.

Guys who are aiming for more than 30 pips per day usually have big losses and hardly make a profit till the month's end.

Deflation bad for the EUR? What?! A deflation would only drive the EUR stronger. Why spend when you know your $1 today is going to increase in purchasing power tomorrow?

I think I've said this a long time ago, from a central banker's perspective is that inflation boosts spending and growth by devaluing the currency. People are more inclined to spend when they know their purchasing power is dropping.

A rate cut would have a good positive impact on other risk assets like AUD/CAD/NZD or assets that are used to hedge against inflation like XAU/XAG/WTI.

The EUR dollar? Not good.

And who wants to see a stronger EUR? This isn't good for this situation (I think about the PIIGS). Devaluing is the only solution and hey I know the meaning of the deflation and I am 100% confident that it isn't good for the economy.
