Hector Trader was my first video training. But following is tough. It has Lots of indicators one has to remember a-z. But Your Sonic R is very simple. Thanks for this simple system.

If you put some videos regarding Sonic R with latest advice. It will be much useful. Watching 20 min. video is much effective than reading 1000 pages.

Still Running, but dont look promising, as Londons session is at its end. I have to say that beside Sonic, none of my other startegies and indicators didnt work today.

Shame. I do appologise if some 1 followed me today. Its a 90 pip loss. from EU GN.

Trying o close BE on GU. I am confused by price action today. Hope tomorrow it will be clearer.

Have you checked the #36737.
Whenever the sonic R shows setup if one check nearest competitive high or low and make sure it is highest or lowest. Then entering trade will be most success one. Then success rate will be high.

how and when will you decide to move your SL higher again? the next BRN is 1.0400, right?

where do you place an ultimate catastrophic SL and cut loss?

if you see that this pair will reverse, then why not add and build up positions at higher prices. This way, you will get an overall better entry sell price.

There is a problem I see in relating the value of any trade to R:R. And that problem is the necessity to consider whipsaws, the possibility they might occur and to what extent they might travel. Why is considering them a necessity? Simply because most times before any really good trade, they will happen. And the better the trade is going to be, higher the odds are they will happen. And so, in considering whipsaws, it is the SL position that is directly affected.

For example, Master Sonicdeejay has offerred that the setting of the SL on any, repeat any, EU trade should be at least 80 pips. That is very sensible advice. Yet, it pokes holes in any attempt to use R:R as a validator of quality of trade.

If you are trading on a calm lake, then R:R might be used this way, otherwise it is useless. And the market rarely offers good trades on a calm lake.

Also, stevepatt, since you are so keen on this idea, I suggest you start posting 2R trades real time, when you find them. Let's see how often they actually run without getting whipped into the designated SL before they take off. And if they do run, if they run to the designated target.

I think you need to demonstrate the practical reality of your premise is valid, before promoting it.

Hi GK,

Here my input for discussion:

What I do is that I use mostly H4 and D candlestick patterns. On my M15 chart, the H4 Hi-Lo lines on my chart is a visual aid to see the H4 candle period and the PA M15.
In your example, there were several HH HL H4 candles, then a huge Outside Bar (OB). If you see the M15 PA inside this OB, I try see if there is momentum and the direction of the momentum using the M15 candles.

That huge OB is sign of sudden increase in market interest, in this example, it is seller interests. I would have known much earlier my Big Picture plan where the support and resistance are and my trade plan whether to be buyer or be seller.

If I decide to be buyer, then after that OB I will stand aside and wait for a better bullish reversal setup. I would like to see a series of HH HL with a base form after the huge OB.

If I am seller, I will trade that OB. There are different OB trading techniques. My favoutrie is wait for a price pullback after the OBs to 38% and 50% to get a better entry price. If I chase OBs, then I must be prepared to add positions when there is the first retracement. But I always keep my eyes on levels where the HH or LL cluster. These are quite visible with the H4 Hi-Lo on the M15 chart.

What if I am caught in a reversal after that OB? Well, I cut loss. Re-assess the whole situation and make another new trade decision. That is part of the game day in day out as a trader.

In your other example, after a volatile period. The H4 candle are smaller and you will not see consecutive HH HL or LH LL. You see inside bar (IB) of a series of mix H4 highs and lows. Under this conditions, I look for breakout of a High or a Low. Same, I look for clusters of H4 highs and lows and back to my Big Picture plan.

Note: the price pullback after a H4 OB can be seen as M15 waves back into the Dragon and continuation momentum in M15.

When I am not confident of a particular setup, I will enter the trade with “one-third rule” … i.e. divide my initial risk into 3 parts, using each part to build up positions after the initial entry. This is to get better average price or to catch ‘bursty’ type breakouts not wanting to miss a runaway.

This is my way how I trade intraday using H4 and D TFs. This also apply when I trade the D chart TF.

Hi,
Just to share 2 trades taken on Aussie yesterday.
Both trades were taken early Tokpo session to catch a possible breakout of previous D high ... Monday consolidation.

My thoughts behind these trades are quite similar. I wrote these in the AU chart.

Maybe we see more volatility either later today or I am sure tomorrow and Friday.
It will EU, GU and EG ...who will the overall winner this week? EU and GU have 250 to 300 pips week range to play with.

Soon as the high impact release clock ticked down to zero, the price was quickly run up, .....market makers running stops? .....SM on a liquidity creation drive? ......Or, genuine buying interest? Who knows, but this could well spell a reversal in the making if price does not follow thru to the upside.

All system that trade PA on 15 min chart need lots of volume, they need volume to create the strong impulse waves that define the trend and therefore give you an edge in which way the market is moving. Yesterday was a flat with no real volume making it very difficult to trade.

We will soon be reaching to summer months where volume is low and the sharks can manipulate the market with sudden spikes, so most PA systems will start preforming better after the summer break when we get the volume back.
