Hermie Van Rompuy may be (as Nigel Farage put it) "a damp rag with the personality of a low grade bank clerk", but he sure can build hype out of nothing.

ADD: For anyone who knows what a record player is (from the ancient times before CDs), this is starting to sound like a broken record. (or a damaged CD skipping). Same thing over and over. First they come out with a great "We fixed it all" statement. Then bit by bit it gets flushed down the toilet. Looking forward to the next EU Summit so I can do this all over again

how does GBP fit into all of this?
What I know from a macro perspective is that the UK is just as bad as EZ when it comes to debt and deficits. However, the UK government has a much better handle on things politically (Not fiscally). The EZ is in trouble because of the political diversity... noting else. If they got their political house in order and started working as a single entity, then the EZ would be in much better shape than the UK and the US put together.
I believe BOE will implement further QE at their next meeting and that should be GBP negative vs the USD. How it prices vs other majors will all depend on what the global climate looks like at that time.

Yes. If Spain wants cash from EFSF to bail out its banks, they will have to put up collateral. Probably gold reserves.
1500$/ounce - approx - 45 K for 1kg - 45 mil for one metric tonne.
280 t x 45 mil = 12 billions.
ISnt it too little??

I don't trade the GBP so I don't do any deep analysis on it. The Euro has enough drama going for it to keep me very busy.

1500$/ounce - approx - 45 K for 1kg - 45 mil for one metric tonne.
280 t x 45 mil = 12 billions.

Unlike yesterday, I'm waking up to red pips and more than I though I'd get. What a move that was last night 
Hard to believe that it has retraced back so much, but then again, on a longer term view (daily chart) you can see we've retraced back to the bottom of the bear flag.
I've pointed out a few times here that more often than not, a flag (be it bear or bull) will often retrace back to test the flag. That what I see on the daily.
All I can say at this point is; It better fail and move on down quickly!
Also, yesterday we were looking at 83.000 as a tough nut to crack, today we're looking at 82.000 which will also be a tough nut to crack.

I observe your reality but live my own. 
Hey! Anyone can put words to current EU/CHF price action? ...it's nothing major but for CHF it's an interesting departure from the norm ...just curious as to what's possibly playing out between the actors
