Yo BFSG, how about this?

Opportunity lost is an implicit cost.

Imo this is not true and I have always disagreed with this statement. But according to economic theory, if you are counting income from an investment, you must include implicit costs. For example my implicit cost from trading FX is the fact that I dont have stable job. Silly theory.

Lol I guess so, but I guess its more an emotional rule. Why get upset from missing out on profit, when you would be more upset from an actual loss?

In addition

Opportunity lost = same lot size w/ same leverage on next trade
Capital lost = less lot size with w/ same leverage on next trade

The markets are alive with the whiff of Hopium. Finally (they think) Bernanke will ease and they will get their fill of liquidity to buy up junk bonds and other risk assets.

Well tomorrow the hopium addicts will be in major withdrawal pain as Bernanke will surely disappoint the markets. The most I see the Fed doing is extending Operation Twist. That does not provide the market with liquidity because it is balance sheet neutral. There is another risk but it's not balance sheet expansionary either. Rather it is in the forward rate guidance. Will the Fed extend their forecast for an increase in the current Fed Funds rate from late 2014 to early 2015 or beyond? If they do, then there will in fact be a stampede to sell USD, although it will not last long. As soon as the EZ reality slaps them in the face again, it will be time to snatch profits off the top of all risk asset classes quicker than they went up.

Like I said earlier... I will be ready with shorts before tomorrow's rate statement.

this market has lots its mind yet again

just getting as much out of the hopium as it can i guess since its all over tomorrow

silver smashed while usd falls? thats definitely manipulation right there. also easy to tell because gold didn't budge. silver market is tiny so its easier to control but it usually rises and falls with euro
