Good to see people doing their all important Sunday analysis. I know absolutely nothing about Elliot Wave, it's all Greek to me, but I rely on moving average positioning and Fibonacci to try to predict future price action. Looking at the the H4 chart, I predicted that the price after the weekend of the 2/3rd following the big Friday push up, would reach the H4 100SMA, as it was the next important MA on that time frame with nothing before it to impede the move upwards. We broke above it, but only by 50 pips, before coming back down. Then it was for me a question of using fibonacci to try to ascertain where it would find support. I figured on the 61.8%, but it has found support on the 50% retracement level, closing both bars above it on H4. We now have the 100SMA just above again, but now for me, with slow Stochastics down around oversold, we will continue now to see euro move higher this coming week, although the smaller time frames suggest we need a pullback first to perhaps 1,2479ish. That's my take on things even though I am essentially a scalper, though knowing where the longer term momentum lies always comes in handy. ultimately the market is unpredictable. a lot of things are oversold atm. might be some real weakness in usd. even if there is no real strength in the eur there is in other things. the bail out is good news but they still needed a bail out which isnt. and there are rumors of other parts of eur needing bail out. it should be an upside move. but by now if you have been trading for a while you should realise it isnt the news thats important but how the market interprets

the good thing is you have a method to follow that's all

Well yes, without a method you are like a ship without a rudder in this game. All you can do, as I have done, is devise a method based on what you have learnt through much analysis and trial and error, and hope that it brings more winners than losses. Beyond that, it is all about discipline and being able to continually improve you performance over time.

and here i thought it was about action, excitement, ferrari's, models, and bank accounts bigger than phone numbers.

Well even though I'm far too old for most of that stuff, my wife would put paid to most of it anyway, but regarding the latter, that of course is the ultimate objective!

i agree with a shorter term upside move is likely, but damn the markets not even open atm. i cant see whats happen. i just scalp the moves when they are happening. and i think they can be explained by the fundamentals. i can not explain a move up so i really havent been trading over the last few days. if no one can tell me where its going to stop. and i cant see a point i dont normally trade. im an in trend trader and thats what i do well. so to answer yeah i think a move up is possible. and hoping for one. but i cant see it being sustained

yes, i ask that cause i'm a very very short term trader it's all about 100 - 150 pip max i'm not searching for 500 or 1000 i can't wait for that long
