Me too. I went on M1 to put trendlines to find exhaustion of teh move. As it went steeper, I grew more comfortable to be honest. Put a sneeky short @ 1.2486.

I'd like to see that crap tank further below 1.244 before end of day

I don't think you're going to see that today. If anything breaks it will be your entry price to the topside as more bears may take some profit.

However, I do hope the market proves me wrong.

Well PT, that's about the nicest thing someone's said to me in a while... and your not even trying to talk me into "cybering" with ya! lol...

glad my contrarian approach to price movement and my holistic, organic approach to Senti-Fundi analysis is finding some utility by the folks around here.

I for one am glad to see a real position trader work the currency markets. Not too many of your type in retail forex... and i'm sure over time i'll glean some good stuff from your view points, especially as I look to diversify my toolkit and slow down from all this 10-50 pip intraday opportunity stuff.

Right now, i just want to plug my leaks, and fiinsh the year without a losing month. Your thread and a few others help me do that.... so the contributions of the rest here are greatly appreciated.

I agree, very unlikely to see that at this time of the day on a Friday.
Entry price got revisited but I had SL @BE.
If we could finish the day below 1.247, i'll be happy enough

I've been watching the PA at that confluence line I mentioned in an earlier post. Quite a battle going on there. Europeans are all gone and they are in football (soccer) mode, while the NY traders are sneaking in bids but so far they are all being absorbed.. Oops. Spoke too soon? something just popped. Oh boy, here we go. Equities are making a run for it in thin trading.

Hey PT!

I've been only observing this second half of the week as I had some losses earlier this week and needed to take a time out. But I have a quick question for you.

I currently have 2 Sell Limit orders:

1.253
1.257

IF any (or both) of these orders happen to get hit today, would it be unwise to hold over the weekend? I was just reading the last 10 pages of the thread or so, catching up, and I came across SwissTrader's post which talked about a possible Spanish bank bailout happening this weekend.

You mentioned that it would basically kick the can down the road if it happens. This means we should see some higher highs in the coming week(s) if it did happen right?

I wanted your opinion if possible because it looks as though we are creeping up to the 1.253 level.

My view is that if you are an intraday trader, it is very unwise to hold open positions on the weekend, no matter what the situation is.

In this case, it is double unwise as we have two risk events.

1. Chinese data is due out later today after markets close. It will likely be worse than expected, but that's kind of already partially baked in to price. So if it is as or better than expected, there's probably going to be some short covering.

2. The Spanish banking saga. This one is not that much of a risk because a resolution is partially baked in already. Furthermore I don't expect a resolution, but I wouldn't trust the talking heads to not spin it up a bit to make it look like the situation is under control when in fact they don't even know how to spell the word. Remember the market is quite jittery especially being so net short the euro.

ADD: If Chinese data where to come out better than expected, we would likely see a gap up on Sunday. If that were to happen, then any pending orders you had in place on the weekend would trigger at the next available price which would be the opening price if your limit order where below it. With a reversal gap highly likely to be filled, that would be an almost guaranteed profit trade. However, you have to make sure that your order is not triggered before the Interbank shuts down I'm not endorsing such a trade. I'm just sayin'

Perfect example of talking heads spinning things up...

Contributing to the move is ECB’s Constancio says Spain to formally request aid for banks hopefully soon. This is being reported on Portugal radio. When he was asked if aid can come on Saturday, he responded that “anything is possible”.

my most optimistic expectation for today is; it will close over 2500 today.I am expecting to see 2515 before market close.If not i would be happy to see any closing over 2480 to keep hopes for next week. Just my opinion: we will not see over 1.2525 today.Neither graphics nor indicators dont show something like this.Also there is no expectation for the rest of the day and today is friday!
