From everything I have read, I'm under the understanding that the Bilderberger's would rather see a very weak euro if not, even a Euro collapse, so there would never be a chance of it ever threatening the dollar as world reserve currency. I see no incentive for U.S to bailout EU. IMO.

Agreed. Actually there is a disincentive. A European bailout by the IMF as laid out in Steve's plan could backfire and cause more problems than there are. If so, O'Bummer will be lambasted, skewered and roasted.
If the US does nothing to help and Europe drags down the US economy, O'Bummer has an excuse... Blame it on Europe.

Hi,

I read the article and I think that gentleman expresses fear of Americans ( the politics ): see the birth of a Federal Europe.

We begin with a budget europe with this crisis.

We consolidate the economic europe after this crisis.

And we'll end up a political Europe, later.

Currently, it should not be a buyer of the euro, i agree. We must be vigilant about the shorts, my objective is 1.1875 and 1.12 in sight.

I think, it is the start of the dollar end. ( + 1500 billions of debt for US Dollar in ONE year)

US is in no position to help anyone. We are so far underwater with unfunded liabilities (excluding Obamacare possibilities) we will probably never see daylight. We will be seeing some crazy stuff out of most American media up till the presidential election. Crap hits the fan sometime around December when people start realizing just how bad the government has been misleading them -- notice how each months nfp is revised downward. Govt employment numbers a joke.

‘Serious possibility’ Cyprus may need EU bailout

Cyprus assumes the rotating presidency of the 27-member EU bloc on July 1, and is now in serious need for Europe’s economic help. (Reuters)

Eurozone member Cyprus conceded on Tuesday that there is a serious possibility it may need an EU bailout to save its banking system, which is heavily exposed to Greek debt.

“The possibility of addressing the financial stability mechanism to support the banking system, due to the problems created by excessive exposure of banks to Greece, is a serious possibility,” deputy government spokesman Christos Christofides told reporters.

He said the government was looking at various ways to support the banks, which included finding a loan “from elsewhere.”

Cyprus has already secured a 2.5 billion euro ($3.2 billion) low-interest loan from Russia to cover its refinancing needs for this year.

The recession-hit economy is struggling with record unemployment, austerity measures and trying to rein in a deficit twice the EU accepted limit of three percent of GDP.

The government is committed to getting its bloated deficit to below 3 percent this year from 6.4 percent in 2011.

But it is reluctant to introduce deeper public cuts to drastically slash the deficit.

“Cyprus will not go to the support mechanism because it has a fiscal deficit of 2.5 or three percent -- if we finally apply. This must be crystal clear, it will be to support the banking system,” said Christofides.

The only way for the eurozone to survive through this mess long term is through federalization. The idea of the US bailing out the eurozone in any way is laughable.

This may very well be the end of the dollar, I think the recall elections in Wisconsin today will forcast the economic prosperity in the US for years to come.

Several other states are in line to push through similar austere measures to balance state budget, if the recall election fails this mandate will in turn set the wheels in motion to get our collective fiscal house in order. Rather quickly too I might add.

Today there is a recall for governor and Lt governor. The labor unions are behind the recalls. There was a previous recall attempt to change the makeup of the state congress and a recall effort to change the makeup of of the state supreme court. Both failed. Two laws have been passed. One says that state workers cannot be compelled to join the state employees union and another law states the state will no longer collect union dues. Last figures I've seen states that unions have lost 52% of their membership. Since the Democrat party enjoys about 98% union donations, it is a major hit to them. As stated above a failed recall effort is a major game changer in US.
