That is a test for just one pair, so I can't really make any conclusions. I plan to test a few pairs each from all 5 groups and then see what I can learn.

It is good to think about what you can earn but in most buisness profit comes when you have enough knowledge. I am just testing so that I know what to expect from this trading method.(Statistical expectancy)

The test use a mechanical approach so a trader that knows what he is doing can easily beat this results. So this is not the best representation of a "good" trader here. But right now I don't know many things about this system, so this is my only approach I can think of to understand it fast.

What to look for starting Monday is your new monthly pivot line. Here is the nzd/chf and its new monthly pivot line (black#2) compared with the old monthly pivot (red#1). price which had been below the line last month (yellow area) is now right there at the line. If price breaks this line then we stay will sell(grey area), HOWEVER if price bounces here and starts going up we will also go with the new UT (green area). Also compare with the new weekly line when it comes out on Monday. This will be the key to your new trading week and month....

Great fresh insights into 10.2. Getting to appreciate the significance of a new month, new monthly pivots and NFP all factored in. Thank you.

guys you need to use both baluda's slope strength and currency slope strength indicators. One shows the average of slopes for the currency and the other shows relative movement for a given period of time. So you can see e.g. NZD may be overall weak/est in the list but the other indicator shows that it is increasing in strength against CAD for now. So we can buy NZD against CAD and say sell against JPY or USD.

Here is a test of a group 1 pair AUDUSD! Rules of backtest is here, http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...92#post5723692

The good thing I notice about this system after 2 backtest is that it copes well with ranging markets. It is around breakeven in my books during the ranging period. I encourage anyone here to do some back test so that we can verify each others results. I will try to make time to do one more pair latter.

Oh and another thing I notice is, from the last 2 backtest it seems that holding on to trades until the slope go between -0.4 and 0.4 won't give you a better result compare to if you don't hold it with a second trade in the test periods.

For EURUSD the RR for 1st position was 5.39, second was 4.63
For AUDUSD the RR for 1st position was 5.19. second was -0.38

Of course the results will vary depending on whether the pair trend more or less within the test time. Interesting to note that, if you don't hold on the trades in AUDUSD the results would have been similar to EURUSD. Not surprising considering AUDUSD is a group 1 pair.

Did you consider range trading during the range periods? That's a totally different trade then the commonplace trend trades we've been using at the moment.

Just a word of warning regarding Bank of Japan.

They always say they are watching exchange rates closely. What you need to do is look at the charts. The last time they intervened close to this area was Feb 2nd, 2012. The market finally turned around at that point due to the flight to USD not because of their intervention.

They unsuccessfully intervened before Feb 2nd. I anticipate they will try to intervene again around the 76.5 area on USJDPY. I would start to be careful of long JPY positions at @ 77ish.

At worst they could trigger your stops at best, its a bump in the road and another failed attempt for the BOJ to stem the tide of the market's view of the Yen safehaven.

Bottomline, I'm long yen until the 77ish level then I'll be sitting out for awhile until I see if the intervention is successful.

Verb thankyou for your your words regarding the BOJ however i disagree with your post, nobody knows for sure if and when the BOJ would intervene,so traders should decide for themselfs when to buy and sell jpy, past history is just that history.
As for me not in any aususd, gprusd, trades as yet waiting to see what the market offers.
Regards

Today US is close for Memorial Day. All of my trades were retracing, and AU is also strengthening since asian session.

Again, my shorts are all closed as of now. I am not good with mondays!

EU crept up to WP zone, and I will see what its gonna do there.

AU also getting near to pivot.
