That is correct. The purpose of the funds is for sovereign bailouts with money provided by tax payers. It would be both illegal and immoral to use that money to bail out the banks. The Spanish banks should be bailed out by the Spanish government using money borrowed at Spanish bond rates. They made the mess, and they should shoulder the cost of fixing it. Fair is fair.

Very true. We are very stubborn/structured/organized/rule abinding people, and when you make a deal it's a deal.

Also the provisions of the accord in the ESM/EFSF, does not allow such actions to be undertaken.

That M15 100ma is still holding. A bit of a battle going on there. Strong support and strong resistance. Although tick volume is still quite low.

It's not quite over for the bulls yet but still could go either way. Time will tell.

ADD: There is also some hidden bullish divergence on the MacD and the RSX is oversold and starting to point up.

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - Market sentiment dropped further yesterday as turmoil in the Spanish banking sector added to signs of a deepening of the euro crisis, weighing on the euro and favoring the USD and JPY that appreciated further, according to Danske Bank analysts. "EUR/USD dropped below 1.24 and trades at 1.2395 this morning, the lowest level since July 2010 and USD/JPY dropped back below 79".

"Markets direction is all most one way traffic at the moment and the only thing that could change the game right now seems to be a policy response", said Danske Research team. "We might see some support for the euro when the expected 'yes' in the Irish referendum is (most likely) confirmed by the exit-polls this morning and officially tonight. However, any euro performance is expected to be short-lived and we would continue to sell both EUR/USD and EUR/GBP on up-ticks".

Yes. USA, 2008, the banks (both domestic and foreign, it came out) were bailed out with tax payer funds. After Congress was threatened.

Yes they were but at least they were banks domiciled in USA. In this case the context was about EZ wide tax payer money being used in Spain. That's even worse than the misappropriation of US tax payer money in 2008.
