To be honest, I am surprised it moved this much today. The market is dead due to the US holiday. I would recommend you at least take half the profit and lock the rest at BE.

Very possible, but as I said earlier today, it is tomorrow that counts... not today. If price manages to break the low of 1.2485, then that is a different story. Otherwise we are just ranging.

Just a note to be clear...

Despite the fact I believe we are heading lower before we get a significant correction, my personal preference is that we get the correction now (this week) and then head lower from there. However, as I said earlier, I am not going to take today's moves seriously. Markets are thin and in thin markets, moves tend to be erratic as there is no true balance between buyers and sellers due to lack of sufficient liquidity and trader interest.

I was thiniking hard when I openned my account in Oct 2011 what base currency to choose - EUR or USD and now I'm glad taht Iv piked dollar. I wonder - should I change it to Eur when it will reach roundabouts of 1,2000 ?
When and if Greece and Spain will be sorted OUT, Euro zone should enter some kind of spring spree mode till new highs will be reached..?

That's no different than a long term trade. Just use the same reasoning you would use in a position trade. If you feel 1.20 is the bottom when the time comes, I guess that would be the time to buy Euros. Look at it this way... Even if it is not the bottom, you will still realize a gain eventually because the Euro is not going to die. There is too much at stake.

Problem is that I'm not a position trader Do you know when US politicans and media will remmember national debt ceiling question? EUro be better at its lows at that time

Closed my 1.2573 short at 1.2530 for +43 pips

We now have what may become a rising channel on M15. Time will tell.

i thought i wouldnt be back in room until fri.i could do with the e/u or g/u or both going up about 10/15 pips range for an hour then drop that is when my next trades will be. i profited earlier and with dow too. i can stick a chart in room later if requested to show what i did actually i can probably confirm it with my trade confirmation. happy trading guys, trade simple and dont think too much

The US national debt ceiling will be raised, the tax cuts will be extended and the Fed will not ease before the presidential elections. All will be good in happy land. Once the elections are over, this is how it will play out.

If Obama is re-elected, the status quo will continue and the mess will get bigger.
If Obama is defeated, the blame game will start and the mess will get bigger.

hi buddy you ok. i hope you dont mind me saying but do you actually trade. i am referring to what you just wrote. Disregarding any talk about gaps or the state of the euro or anything else. Since midnight we had the chance to go long for a modest 30 pips and a couple of shorts for again 20 -30 pips each. the same with g/u except we would of had 2 losses as well but they would of been accomadated for. Or are you after big pip gains. i am only giving advice in a good way i am not trying to prove anything except that a lot of pips can be made in an easy/simple way. happy trading

Sure billy, look the short open position in the last chart, I also close another short. Look euro.aussie, two shorts, last week I suggested to go short @1.2835 in the thread. No more trade for my now.
