I'm not trying to argue that.
Actually there are a couple of gaps (above) on EUR.
However, EUR may well fall to 1.18 or parity (not a prediction). I'm only saying that if EUR remains a viable currency those gaps will eventually be filled. Therefore, when the time comes, those gaps can be a target price.

Right now it's still in "sell" mode.

Maybe I think way too far ahead..

But who is actually trading on the weekends and more importantly the frequency?

A case can be made that only dumb or people who had a bad week only feel compelled to trade on the weekends.

Maybe this explains why 25+ gaps get filled at a very significant % in a very short time, 3---4 hours on average.

i assure u the moves on sunday aka monday in other parts of the world are not the "dumb" ppl as u so eloquently put it... these are the ppl getting positioned to run the "dumb" ppl over..

also when the gaps are normally formed it is no longer the weekend... its the pre market and open of the aussie and asian markets

a "gap" is nothing more than a lack of liquidity between 2 price points... hence gaps forming during low liquidity times such as pre markets...

this is why price returns to the area when the selling or buying pressure is off but it does not need to

The data does not lie.

To be certain it is important that we are talking about the same thing here. A weekend gap. It varies with the 7 different pairs that I follow but we are talking about a gap of 20--25 pips, anything less is ignored, between Fridays close and Sundays open.

Nevermind, I have the data.

Do you want the exact percentile rates?
Did you know that gaps are often much larger than that. And perhaps the larger the gap the more meaningful it becomes.

A case could be made that trading on the "weekend" which resulted in 200 pips @ open wasn't entirely stupid.

gaps come back as a target eventually because they were hard to break in the first place.

I think there are two discussions going on here, so it can get confusing. If you have an interbank feed, there are typically no weekend gaps because the market doesn't close.

A market maker stops their price feed over the weekend, so if someone is arguing winning percentages of something that only exists on their market maker chart, and wants to say it's tradable, that's their choice.

Maybe not the best time to share it.
It will dissapear until monday but I'll have a go.
I was analysing weekly chart and realised that we are at the pretty important zone (12600)
1. Nov 2008 & March 2009 double bottom and rally up to 1.5xxx area
2. Aug 2010 bounce up after correction - up to 1.4270 area
3. Jan 2012 bounce up after drop from 1.4xxx - up to 1.35xx area

Points for bulls:
1. Price failed to breach below 1.25 big psychological number
2. Bearish May
3. And thats it

Points for bears:
1. Price closed firmly below 1.26xx
2. EZ in worst crisis has ever been so far
3. Grexit + Spain oh boy!

The only thing that can save bulls imo will be coming week. If price managed to pierced trough 1.26xx and stays above it - than there is a chance for a rally.
If we'll close below 1.2500 with nice fat red candle I will not stop selling untill 1.1865

Lets be honest it'll be really hard for bulls to have a go in such a mess EZ is in.

really I don't think so ,unless your talking small pips ,5 min chart or gap player ,small pips

cable also free fall ,theres no retrace in free fall till you hit something hard

I think candles say this is healthy trend at top of channel
