Hmm don't look like it might happen tonight, maybe next week or tomorrow. As Jemook said, we are still in a DT. And yes I am still planing to short.

But if you look at EU now your trade would have made you a ton of pips if your SLs would have been larger, wouldn't it????

Of course, but it all depends on your lot size. If your lot size is smaller, then u can gobble up larger DD. And also depends of your equity size.

There was some discussion on this issue recently. Basically Bob's view is that the maximum pip strategy is to buy/sell at the pivot points. However, he agrees that it is not the safest strategy. In contrast Jemook was using a strategy that traded on an MA break after the pivot was crossed or tested. This often occurs because the price will retrace to the pivot after a break and then resume the trend. While this is not the maximum pip strategy, Bob agreed that it is safer.

That doesn't really make sense to me. Price nearly always crosses the MAs BEFORE it crosses the pivot. The exception is when price is ranging around a pivot or sometimes when there is a pivot "overshoot" on a retrace (but not always). Check out recent GU/EU H4 charts and see how many times price crossed the MA's AFTER crossing a pivot/S/R line.

At the moment pretty much any cross of the blue MA is good for me as we are trending nicely. It does feel a bit better waiting for a large retracement before jumping in though. By large retracement I mean enough that the Blue MA goes above the green and maroon MA (for a short) before setting the EA.

Concerning my previous lost, AUDUSD took out my stop and went pass for only 10 pips just to turn around.(I knew market is not random! ) Next time my stops should not be too close to a swing end.

Just put them on the other side of the next support/pivot (+ a bunch of pips) for a bit more added safety.

It make great sense with a nice pull back up then down into the MA.

Hello everyone.

I traded AUS/USD today (24.05.12)

Trade 1:

I placed a sell stop order below WS1, which was triggered and fell straight away and brought +30pips, BUT I was working at the time and when I checked the chart on my mobile, my position was negative Result: -19.7pips

Trade 2:

I placed a buy order when the price broke 5.1MA on 30M chart for quick profit. Result: +22.7pips

Trade 3 (Attachment, sorry I put a wrong date on 15M chart....today is 24th not 25th...)

Retracement reached my original watch area on 4 hour chart. So I went to a smaller TF, 30M and 15M chart.

On 15M chart, I saw a big bearish pin bar at R/S level + round number. I entered short when the price broked 5.1MA.

Closed the position when the price bounced off today's daily range target.
I suppose I could have hold the position but TMA slope on 4 hour chart is flat.

Result: +31pips

TMA slope on 4 hour chart is flat but slightly lower -0.8 (-0.82 on Alpari UK).
Should I have held the position?

Also, I have a full time job during London session and I cannot set up TMA slope on mobile platform, so I have to rely on 3 MAs....

Target WS2. If breach, there will be more lows to come.

Today, didnt trade much, just EU and AUDCHF both shorts. Was reading about Shelly's Basket. Sounds super pipping. Cant wait to test it on demo pre franfurt tomorrow.

Not much was happening yesterday so I took those 15-30 pip profits and called it a day. Still got 1/2% of an account increase so cant complain. Will be very busy this morning and see no change in what I will be looking for. I want to see some kind of rally that I can enter back into the trend and then a bigger whamo than yeterdays. Happy trading.
