You want the textbook answer or a non-textbook answer?

A: Cut loss and live to fight another day. Slow grind upwards
B: Gamble and hold, most likely to lose all your money
C: Hedge against your position by purchasing options or forwards to minimize your incurred losses
D: Close your account

Dunno, i think i need to know where he is long from. If there's any chance of breakeven or small loss then wait and see if it starts to tank or recover.

Watch AUD. It looks like it wants to recover. Fair chance EURO might follow.

If he is long from way above, then it's too late to even cry. Then the answer is, get a new strategy.

Euro decently bounced from this level in 2008.

Yes, I noted AUD, made a 1.5% scalp few minutes ago but not sure if it will really recover.

OK, so grabbing 10 to 20 pips in this market, - which is an active market, - should be able to recover at least half of those 60 pips by morning.

In fact, London is often sketchy, so... by noon tomorrow, there will be a couple moves for 20 to 50 pips in New York to make up for it.

So, double down and hold for margin call is a recipe for tears.

Short Aud/Jpy. If it ranges he will have best of both worlds, but need to know the levels to square off and takes time.

I don't know.... might just add more stress to an uncertain situation.

I might want to know his balance a month ago..... because:

If he had 100k a month ago and it's 260k now, then go long on balls and short on tears. But if a 50% loss is gonna cause excessive pain then close half and regroup

Buying 96 lots with only 260k, with more than a 10 pip stop (and 10 pip stop = 4% risk exposure) Think you might be just a bit over leveraged?
