On a bear or bull flag, the minimum TF is at the top or bottom of the Flag Pole. This one looks good for a few hundred pips.

There are over 1,200 pages, try reading more than one. I know it seems daunting to see a big task ahead of you if you decide to read all 1,200, however thats not neccessary.

I suggest you scan thru the 1st hundred or so pages and just look at the charts of Lawgirl. Only concentrate on the 3Tap charts, and learn that method first. After a month or so you may want to study the break out and gap trade methods, but personally I don't bother with those. They are really only there for traders who can't stand waiting for good 3Tap setups.

thanks for your suggestion, in fact im currently browsing through all the pages at the moment.

just that sometimes im abit confused with some other things.

when should the 4th candle close in relation to the next session opening?

1)Turn on your daily period separator in properties
2) download daily line boxes OC
3) adjust properties of Line boxes end hours to 4

this will make the lines just 4hrs long so when you drop to the 15 min chart for the candle close you can see your chart really well.

LG said just go with your brokers time for simplicity and of course the break out will speak for itself

Actually I was looking for posts - which I found meanwhile - 17932 and 17948, which speak about the 4 bars finishing at start of London session.

Hi Guys,

I am new to Forex and am desperately trying to learn a few systems that I can understand and can put through demo testing. I have read this thread and the system looks uncomplicated enough for me to understand.

I will hopefully be posting questions as I start trying out the system. For now, I have a couple of quick ones:

 

  1. I am have started of with FXCM as my broker and opened a demo account with them. I am using their software (Marketscope) as I still haven't managed to get my head around MT4. Also, the fact that you have to maintain a $5000 balance with them to use MT4 isn't helping. Nonetheless, any thoughts on whether it is fine to use this platform or I should really strive to move to MT4 and also change my broker to Alpari. One thing you guys may want to consider is that, for now I can only do this part-time and won't have my computer connected all day to the Internet. What I am trying to get at is, does MT4 need to be running in order to execute stop losses or profit limits.
  2. My second question follows on from my first one. The 3 tap system uses RSI(3). Some members have kindly provided the indicators for MT4, however as I am using Marketscope I can't be using the provided indicator. Is it OK to visually confirm the direction in RSI(3) for the 4H, 1D and 1W Time frames.


Any suggestions or comments on this is highly appreciated.

Hi KashTrader,

Just to clarify, the minimum for an MT4 account with FXCM is $2000, however, if you have a balance of at least $5000, then you get VPS service for free. In regards to stops and limits on the MT4 platform, they will work even if the platform is closed, but if you have trailing stops, then you'll need to keep the platform running, which is where a VPS could come in handy.

I am a huge fan of pure candle sticks, and i search for other methods. using my current method i enter the market maybe 3-10 times a month. My finger itch me a bit, and need to do more.

does this system makes money?
could somebody post a quick P/L table.

sad that the people left and offcourse lawgirl. Even if the strategy is crystal clear it is strange that the left and just did not stick around and be social and present their trades. But thats just maybe what i would do

I come back after i have read, with the questions good to see there is still some people here.
