Yes Greece is the "Achilles Heal" of the Euro right now. However, as Finney already pointed out, there is not much that can happen in Greece now until the elections. Yesterday's bad news should now be priced in. If it wasn't, this sucker would still be dropping today. Instead we are now above yesterday's close. That in itself is a good thing. So finally, the technicals can take over for a while and give us a much needed and long overdue correction. The markets are not just going to wait 3 to 5 weeks until Greece makes up its mind. There is money to be made and time is a wasting

Of course, despite what I just typed above, I expect some offers in the waiting. Therefore I am not going to cover any more of my shorts just yet. I'll just sit here and see how the battle plays out. Keep in mind that we have not yet really hit the support line which comes in around 1.2622

Talk of emergency ECB meeting today

I know there’s an ECB monetary policy conference in Franfurt later today.

Strong UK fundies still not enough to move the market bullish. We are not going anywhere fast.

If they are in fact having one, we could get
a) Surprise rate cut (Euro negative)
b) LTRO3 (Euro positive)
c) Spanish bond buying (Euro Positive)
All 3 are good for confidence in the ECB to step in when needed.

I started animating picture once price was going up and I could not resist to release it... You are right it is early, though that is the expected trend.

Bond auctions may still turn price development.

If this were to be, how much would it effect PA you think? 100 pips?

Every time there was a surprise rate change in the past, it caused a 500+ pip move. It all depends on how much it was expected. In this case, a rate cut is not expected at all, so I would think that we would get maximum impact.

It is the same with LTRO3 and the restart of the SMP. They are not expected but they would not have an immediate effect. A rate cut is absolute but LTRO3 and SMP moves need time to see the effect.

EUR/USD: Bids 1.2650/60 ahead of key tech support 1.2625 (Jan lows). Offers 1.2740/50 buy stops above ahead of more offers 1.2770/90, again with stops above
