This is a common understanding when taking profit. Depending on the TF you trade, TP 10pips before the support or resistance. On the daily and the 4H if you trade it profit should be take 20pips before reaching Major support and resistance levels.

In the middle of this chart, you will see a number pointed out as 3145. it was a huge support and that is the actuall # big boys look at. Momentum takes us 5/10 pips up or down but I think smart money always look at these big S&R areas on weekly .

It is just my opinion and I could be wrong completely.

I have 1.30958 but what was his spread at the time? Did his spread remain constant? You have to factor in your spread when looking at if his order would have been filled.

So if your TP is 1.3098 and your spread is 3pips - for your order to be filled - price would have to reach 1.3095.

In other words, the 3 pip spread has two levels that makes it 3 pips - you have the bid price and the ask price. The Bid Pice is the bottom and the ask price is the top

So the ask price of the spread would have to reach 1.3098 for your order to be filled and the bid would have reached 1.3095 - So your spread is very important

This is just a gentle reminder.
