why is everbody chasing indicators. open your eyes its everything clear already in opens. how easy it can get?

Okay, it's a very important subject for sure, here is my take on it.

There are doom and gloom sites all over the net, and they have been saying these things for years while the Bulls laugh at them. Most of the sites are telling the truth of course, the World is in one massive debt bubble, and I could point out about another 100 reasons in addition to those recent 22. You have to think it will catch up to us eventually and do what every other bubble in history has done, burst. (Bersnarke would like to think his printing press has something to say about that, and so far it seems to have spoken).

So, much talk, and there has been since 2009, yet the USA market wants us to believe everything will be fine. And remember, the market is considered a "leading indicator" of the Economy by at least 6 months by the "experts". Well the thing that really gets my hair up here vs. many other sites and the things all the sites have been citing in the past, is their point number 1. So I thought this was just some more doom talk, but I clicked on the link and it appears to be true. That there is a pretty big tell imo, when insiders are selling like no tomorrow, I think it's probably time to get a little worried.

The USA came unwound in 2008, and it shook the whole World's financial markets; the USA is the World's biggest economy after all, though it has certainly been shrinking. Now Europe is coming unwound, and so far, the same kind of overall effect has not transpired, at least not yet, though some of Europe's financial markets are down some, especially compared to the US. Greece, Spain, Italy, all in big trouble, and likely the Eurozone is on shaky ground and the World knows this time, unlike the 2008 crisis that caught most by surprise (even though there were signs).

So we have to be careful here in more ways than one. Elliot Wave International has been predicting a follow through to the crash since June 2009! Boy have they been wrong. Banks were failing one by one, hundreds in record numbers, yet the market kept rallying, "like it was 1999". Then they thought summer 2010 was the top of this crazy Bear Rally, nope. Of course, as many would point out, all the liquidity created has to of had some effect on all this.

Well in August last year it finally looked like the markets topped for good, the bear market was going to get back under way, and my one reliable Market Health indicator chart seemed to confirm after the markets had a good crash. It correctly confirmed (not predicted) the Tech Bubble crash shortly after it started, then the following huge bull rally from 03 - 08. Then the massive meltdown of 08, and then finally the this seemingly never ending bear market rally starting in 2009. Well, this indicator for the first time, reversed its signal within 2 months after the 2011 crash, it was not to be, yet. (shows you how nothing works all the time, no grails). Yes, the indicators are all lagging on this chart, but I really don't think that takes away from the warnings they correctly gave each time.

So as wise Investors and Traders, we have to "trade what we see", or put another way, "observe what is happening, and assume it will continue". Trouble is right now, we have some pretty mixed signals. In the World's biggest economy, there are no Technical Signs of an Implosion, and we are close to making another 4 year high and not that far off from the all time high, so very bullish overall (the hanging man candle on the SPX Monthly chart sure is daunting though... needs confirmation remember) London and the Dax are similar. Brazil is in buy mode but barely. France, Japan, China and India are under sell signals. So overall its mixed bag but remember this, while some charts are bullish mid term ALL markets are still in a downtrend long term.

As a practitioner of Elliot Wave myself, I can tell you that when you look at the charts going back 1900, and considering the financial state of the World, the writing does appear to be on the wall, and SPX < 666 really does not look that silly, in the much bigger picture.

To Trade, or Not

Today is a day new to trade.
What are the prospects thru which I’ll wade?
I’ve told myself to trade only the best.
Will today present me with only the rest?

I am eager and anxious to enter a trade.
Will I distort the rest to a different shade?
Do I have the discipline to be patient and wait?
Will it be profit or loss I’ll have at the gate?

I won’t make money unless I trade!
But make a bad choice and money will fade.
The market makes moves to urge me in.
Do I succumb, or do I have discipline?

Time will pass without a trade,
And the market will tempt my will to fade.
But, thru much study it is clear what I seek;
The best of trades and profits to keep.

Here is another interesting chart I watch & trade for anyone interested, that fits in nicely with their point number 1, as its getting very close to a buy signal. It's nicknamed the "Fear" Index.

We do not chase.. We too aware of the lagging indicators. That why we use as minimal as possible..

We reference it for the best timing..

Sounds like you are expecting "Sell in May, and go away" to pan out, like most.

Looking at the big picture, one could possibly conclude "May" has come for most already, and a few are still resisting.

Trading the US markets and many things tied to them including and especially the almighty buck, so far I am left with no technical reasons to be bearish in the Intermediate term. Fundamentals are a completely different story of course, but also something that has not mattered for quite some time.

In any event, PA and the charts will guide us. A good weekend to all

I am of the opinion that the "powers that be" were surprised by their own ignorance in 2007/2008. I am in the real estate/housing construction industry, and I NEVER saw it coming until it hit. It was honestly like someone throwing a switch and everything just shut down - almost over night!

Now I watch, with morbid curiosity, the events transpiring today. It is obvious that things would have been much, much worse in 2008 had the Feds not stepped in to prop everything up. The guys that make all the financial rules screwed up royally, and their House of Cards came crashing down around them (and us).

As a result of "our" greed, and because the USA has it's "financial tentacles" around the world's economy, big, bad things transpired.

This whole thing has certainly opened my eyes to the REAL America. I, along with most others, have been going through life with blinders on - believing all the things "they" tell us were true.

I now wonder if the so-called recovery might be an illusion created by "them" as an opportunity for them to recover the losses they incurred when they were caught with their pants down in 2007/2008. They just might be building the recovery as a means to profit from the soon-to-come fall.

Of course I have know way of knowing (let the market decide) but now I am not surprised by ANYTHING that happens. I have lost my trust and respect for the people in power, and I don't see it ever changing. Our government has grown too big and too powerful to ever turn it loose. All we can do is realize it for what it is and try to lessen the affect of the things they do to us.

Am I bitter? Probably! I believed in the "American Dream," but now I see it for what it really is - every man for himself - take what you can, and screw your fellow man. This has been a real eye-opener for me.

That's MY take. Maybe it's right. Maybe it's wrong.
