After looking at your charts what is the Correlation between EUR/USD and the Cross Pair EUR/JPY ?

Does movement up or down in USD/JPY affect EUR/JPY ?

The JPY is pretty much trading on its own merit today mostly affected by the BOJ decision and basically defying the usual correlations (by the looks of it coz I haven't brought out my calculator yet. Just a visual analysis of the charts)

This, in my opinion, is mostly due to the dollar bashing moves that I am seeing today. In a nutshell the Euro is actually down today. It's just that the USD is down much more. I'd like to know where the capital is flowing today. It's almost as if it is being destroyed. Anyone long the Aussie or Cable is doing well today. Everything else is a deadbeat.

ADD: At this rate, I will be eyeing a short around 1.3280/90 area. I have a long standing sell limit at 1.3290 that hasn't been triggered yet. Maybe it will get triggered today. That's not to say that sovereign sellers won't jump in around 1.3250/60

I dont trade cross,
most of the major pairs was leading by the USD and USD was a Father for all the cross,Its better focused on the Main Pairs with USD one
Cross pair may give you a quick pips but it also may kill you quickly if you cant catch the signals as well

If you talk about correlation its better you switch EURUSD & GBPUSD sir
Switch your Chart to Daily TF on both of pairs and you will know what I mean
The Pairs need fulfill their Formation In Order to Create another New Trend

since this is friday and end of the month I've no doubt that Euro might shoot till 1.33 and Pound till 1.633

Whatever the News Is,Truly...Chart tells us everything if we see that well

hi buddy, the egg came first check out evolution. I caught a few nice pips again.yesterday it levelled off about 13210 peaked about 13240 dropped to 13180 as we said hopefully or pt did. Up to 13200 then down to 13160. so we took approx 60 pips. nice and simple i did compound the last trade

Daily Report: Yen Volatile after BoJ Expanded Bond Purchase, Spain Yield Watched after Downgrade

BoJ left rates unchanged at 0-0.1% today. Also, the bank decided to boost government bond purchase by JPY 10T. In addition, BOJ will also expand purchases of ETFS by JPY 0.2T and REITS by JPY 0.1T. On the other hand, BoJ reduce the six-month fixed-rate loan by JPY 5T due to lackluster demand. The bank also extended deadline for the asset buying target by six months, with 2012 year end target unchanged at JPY 65T and the now JPY 70T target will be met in June 2013. Overall, BoJ expects that "together with the cumulative effects of earlier policy measures, today's decision to further enhance monetary easing will better ensure the return of Japan's economy to a sustainable growth path with price stability." The bank expects inflation to approach its 1% target as early as in 2014.

Economic data released from Japan saw national CPI rose more than expected by 0.2% yoy in March but Tokyo CPI dropped deeply by -0.5% yoy in April. In March, unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.5%, household spending rose 3.4% yoy, industrial production rose 1.0% mom, retail sales rose 10.3% yoy, housing starts rose 5.0% yoy. Data were mixed. Despite some volatility, the Japanese yen didn't weak after all the events today and is mildly firmer against other major currencies on risk aversion.

Euro weakened broadly as S&P rating downgraded Spain's long-term sovereign credit rating to BBB+, by two notches from A. This was also the second downgrade this year. Also S&P gave Spain a negative outlook. The rating agency warned that "Spain’s budget trajectory will likely deteriorate against a background of economic contraction". Meanwhile, there is needed for "further fiscal support to the banking sector". And, thus, "there are heightened risks that Spain’s net general government debt could rise further." Spanish benchmark 10 year yield dipped back below 6% this week and today's focus will be on whether it will jump back above 6% again.

US Q1 GDP will be a major focus today and markets are expecting growth to slow to 2.5% annualized, down from Q4's 3.0%. Recent job market data, with initial claims stayed above 380k level for three consecutive weeks, triggered some concern on the recovery momentum. Anything around 2.5% - 3.0% should eased growth worries. But market sentiments could have a turn if the figure came in lower then 2.5%. Other data to watch include Swiss KOF, US employment cost and U of Michigan sentiment final.
USD/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 80.61; (P) 81.02; (R1) 81.37; More...
Some volatility is seen in USD/JPY today but it's still staying below 81.77 resistance and remains pressured. Bias is mildly on the downside or 80.29 support and break will extend the choppy pull back from 84.17 to 61.8% retracement of 76.02 to 84.17 at 79.13. On the upside, though, break of 81.77 will indicate that pull back from 84.17 is already completed and will bring stronger rebound.
In the bigger picture, note again that there is bullish convergence condition in weekly MACD. USD/JPY is also sustaining above 55 weeks EMA (now at 80.02). Monthly MACD is also staying above signal line for some time already. These are signs that USD/JPY has bottomed in medium term at 75.56. Break of 85.51 resistance is mildly in favor and in that case, USD/JPY should target a test on 55 months EMA (now at 90.01) next. However, failure to sustain above 85.51 will indicate that the larger down trend is not over and is still in progress for another low below 75.56.

For those of you who didn't catch the results of the Italian 10Y bond auction, here they are

Yield = 5.84% (vs 5.57% last)
Cover= 1.5 (vs 1.8 last)

As I expected, it is the worst this year so far. That corroborates my previous comments about how things will erode bit by bit in the EZ and Italy is the big one to watch despite the fact that the media is generally ignoring it and focusing on the "not so dangerous" Spain.

a picture is easy to read lol. no 6 is showing neither high or low at the moment. and fxmindset dont assume you know where price will go , dont get biased

I had a reason for posing the question to FXMindset.

There is very strong CORRELATION between EUR/USD and EUR/JPY.

That does not mean always. When USD/JPY gets stronger and closer to BOJ intervention it moves EUR/JPY.

I always have the first three currencies on my platform as follows;

EUR/USD
EUR/JPY
USD/JPY

By seeing these movements and watching charts for all three I use EUR/JPY as my leading indicator for EUR/USD.

I guess FXMindset sees it different. I only share things that work for me. Everyone has their own methods. Good Trading. I am off for the rest of the day. I look forward to your reply on other matter.

I will hold shorts with conviction.

First target 1.3190, 2nd 1.3160...........I will await London close and see where we are at
