What do I know lol, I just follow what happens most of the time maybe I win maybe I lose but in the end PRICE has the last word, I waited for a op and now I see one Lots and lots of people were/are expecting up gap and higher prices just from the sniffing around I have done yet we open with a move down... Hmmm gee wonder what that can mean, weakness maybe. In the end I never listen to what people say as people talk about what they think and want. I learned along time ago to follow what people do not say...

Although the effect has diminished a bit as global rates have started to converge towards zero. For a decent amount of time eur/jpy has been regarded as a good bellweather of risk flow within forex if thats what barometer you are seeking....

If you have an Institutional Account - you actually can trade without paying a spread. Also depending on how many yards you trade a month - you can be guaraanteed a fixed spread, competitively low.

Whenever you're opening an institutional account - the first question they ask you is - how many yards do you trade a month?
Well yeah, u should be able to market make and place Sell Limits at the offer, and Buy Limits at the bid. U should be able to "earn the spread" technically if people will fill from you.

most retail brokers open/close at the same time. Quantity of retailers adds up. I honestly think they are used as contrarians. Most retailers are on the same side. I agree if there were a few brokers which had "gaps" this wouldn't matter, but its not a few anymore... on top of that it happens during low liquidity where smaller bear/bulls can take advantage. End of the day its only what I noticed so take it or leave it. When there is a big gap I see big volatility, maybe coincidence maybe truth, only time will tell if you keep this info in mind.

with 500 to 1 leverage with no MM you'd be surprised what say 10000 retailers can do which are in aggregate on one side of the market. Most retailers on avg 4k accounts so its not pennies like you think. Maybe back in the day when you actually traded instead of blasting on others on an online forum it was what you think it was, but things change, inflation rises.

Using mt4 broker bucket shops if they were to push price it would be probably against them since brokers have to hedge to liquidity providers. 20bn during NY sure but are you seeing that right now? Isn't this the reason why they say to trade during peak volume periods. On numerous occasions I've noticed mt4 brokers hunt my stops only to move int he opposite direction to the pip. If I am just a pea in the pod then that shouldn't happen. The number of times it has happened has made me rethink the idea of me being irrelevant in the large scheme of things.

if gaps get filled, and statically lets say chances are 90%, who gives a faq why this is happening, or what can retailers can do or not, interbanking in weekend ect?
first lesson of TA is that history repeats itself. (what is the reason of that, we just dont care)

anyway look your daily chart in AUDUSD you will see a gap from 28/11/2011 that hasnt filled until today.
so hunting gaps is not always a good decision. is just about chances and statistics.

yup not always... you can get a sense though on the open. Usually a pattern emerges. There are some EA's that work with GAPS on mt4 brokers... and in general the hit rate is pretty high with 1:1 R/R... Spread is the only problem. I think its more psychology than fading a gap.. if retailers believe the gap will be filled it won't. That's under the theory that retailers are used as contrarians. Maybe wack maybe not... it is what it is. If it works make money.
