Mmmm, now i have a quetion for you Experienced traders,. i have my margin set at eighter 1:100/ 1:400 depending on the trade, but beacuse i have enough account balance i move my stop lose to wherever i wish to ( hoping that the lost won't go far than what i can afford) can this be done in any platform? Tnx in advance

Once again traders, knowing how and where to place Stop Losses is always a good thing to learn and practice. One can trade without a SL and in every forex circle you come across, it is advisable to trade with one, however at the end of the day, its your account, its your money (hopefully) and its your decision to either trade with a SL or without a SL.

One conventional Wisdom that has not failed us since it utterance is, "It's Better To Be Safe, Than Sorry"

Congratulations again PaulChin and for the rest of traders that are curious as to wether trading without a stop loss is helpful or not so helpful, Demo trade without a SL and observe what consistent results occur.

Remember being successful at this is about consistency. If every month you are back where you start or worse of a little ahead - OR at the end of the year your account is still at the same place where you started OR you're unable to enjoy the benefits from trading your account - then you are not consistently growing your account.

Spain is suppose to sell 12 and 18month bills tomarrow, it might spike up when this happens right? If so will it be enough to turn Eur bullish for awhile? Then end of week IMF might step in to help also. Which makes me rethink my shorts now.

it's more likely that this move is caused by us-->eu swap line repatriation. the fed is essentially giving dollars or dollar denominated assets to european banks who then need to repatriate, or convert, those assets into Euros, making the eur/usd more expensive temporarily..

it's possible that enough of the market will be fooled to bring us to 1.3180 or 1.32, but I doubt this rally is sustainable. I know you guys are mostly concerned with TA but you can't ignore things like this. Buyer beware.

@Avir:

1:100 / 1:400 is not margin - its Leverage. The higher the leverage you use, the greater the reward, the less money you actually put up from your account but the greater the losses. You can easily wipe out your account with Leverage like 1:400 - It is not advisable that you use such high leverage unless you really really really really know what you're doing.

Warren Buffet, said, and its true, " Never Trade With Leverage " but guess what, its easy for him to say, he has Billions to actually put up. Not trading with leverage is good if you're patient and think long term.

The Lower the Leverage, the more money you have to put up from your actual account, the lower the return and the lower the losses. Again it all depends on your risk tolerance and what you can afford.

So moving your SL, is significantly proportionate and dependent on the leverage that you use as it relates to your account sustainability and YES it can be done on any platform, you just have to speak with your broker to show you how the software of their paticular platform works, that allows you to move your stop loss.

Thank you. But you know what? I do have a stop loss - my full account, but market will have to move 10000 pips against me to wipe me out, which thankfully haven't happen yet. And I have been very consistent for the past few months, occasionally breakeven, and since I'm not from the US, I can actually hedge when wrong, and minimize my risk while holding positions against trend.

Most newbies tend to be more philosophical, boastful, vague in their intepretations, or plain good meals to trade against. I'm used to it already.

My advice for you is: Find an Objective Trading Rule that You can use to trade the market, that give you a view of WHAT IS TO COME TODAY OR TOMORROW.

Any yes, I always trade with a view - some says "Predictions".

Yes it was quick the 4hr pin sent bear packing, next 2 bars was strong bull, it was expected but you still have to be in to grin, , 130 deserve respect, had squeezed most trailings, most was clipped, is still a smelly rally, her did make new low with little pierce so I keeping watch her,
possible higher tf recoil, "gators" the man for them, he see them a mile away, if it is , this girl going to go clean through 130, she is one those wierd levels, absolutely staunch, then bang is nothing there, oh well is can dream

You are right it is ot Margin - it is Leverage. but you havent answer my question?
