Id say it was a good trade, its finding good resistance around 83.10 which was previous support, trend line break also which co-incides with TDI cross over.. Some good comfirmations there. Wait for a test of the back of the upward 4hour trend line and entr from there on the 15 min

Yup, I know what you mean, I downloaded a useful PDF here on the thread, i think its called "Best of Big E" and many times over he meantioned... if you want to go short, look at the previous bearish candles and vice versa. Here is a clear example, The chart is the EG you mentioned, the last time it tried to puch south it went 15 pips before it continued the bulish trend. In cases like this wait for a bulish setup. And the time before that it only moved 3 candles before resuming the buslish trend. It might still go south but I wouldnt take this trade. Here Im looking for a long.

Hi Joffie,

I'm not very clued up on the supply and demand stuff (If you've got any links to share, that would be great). Just as a side note, and this isn't based on the TDI, but a different technique I use, I'd say we're probably going to see a 30-50 pip rise on that pair. I wouldn't take the long on it though, as I'm not certain, but if I had to say either way, I'd go with that.

Good pontential to go south, i just dont like the angle of the TDI, it looks like something between 3 and 4 oclock. Previous candle was small as well. But it doesnt look too bad. Looks like a trade I could definetly enter but not with alot of confidence.

Yes, based on using the supply and demand, I have 4hr at a supply now which also tested the middle of the bear candle being R1.
Then using this method, it is giving a sell with price closing below the 5ema and cross on the tdi.

This is where it seems to get more interesting for me though, is with the demand and supply I am getting this information-

Monthly has come of demand and now has to head to supply, so only buying the monthly.

Weekly has hit the start of the supply, but could still make it to top of supply.

Daily has just hit a demand and bounce up of, with not yet finding supply.

The 4hr has also come of demand same time as the daily, but now sits at a 4hr supply.

So from this information, I personally would not be selling strong down, but the 4hr could still give a sell down to the last lows being daily and 4hr demand.

Yes I must aggree with you on the tdi angle, forgot to look at that one!

I would not be selling based on that angle. Glad I didn't.

Took 30% out at +20 pips, moved stop to before entry but probebly needs more room to breath.

All this talk and all these extra indicators and analysis to the charts which the thread owner repeatedly asked not to bring to this thread. All you need to do is follow the rules on post 1, enter and exit on the tdi and you will profit.

It gets messy at times but who cares when you end each month in profit!. Any new traders to this thread read first 10 pages thats all you need!

Being that TDI Is a lagging indicator (in that it doesn't cross until a move in one direction occurs), your right it usually is correct. However, without PA analysis how do you know what stop and T/P you need?... you understand that always relying solely on TDI, your stop is automatically larger because the move has already happened and your profit is also already smaller, again because it took off.

I'm not bashing TDI in anyway, I'm on this thread too afterall. However, I was like you when I first started and I'm sorry but its better to actually know whats happening with price and enter a trade with confidence than to just enter because one indicator signaled it and sit there and pray it goes in your favour, not knowing why you really entered the trade or when you should get out, other than the TDI goes the other way, which again means you've lost out on pips because it's already gone against you.

To quote Eelfranz (the OP of this thread as you mentioned) from the PDF "Big E Comments":

"I see what PA is saying. It normally doesn't happen at the beginning of a trade...you got to stay sharp when in each trade"

So yes, TDI IS a great indicator but I find only when paired with good PA analysis. If you want to trade solely on TDI and it works then thats great, but theres traders on this thread right now who have been trading for years profitably and they're showing how they do it and how it works for them... Why don't you post a couple of your own trades instead of taking away from the hard work these guys are doing?

I'm not trying to sound disrespectful or rude, just I don't think its right to take away from these guys. As I said, I traded solely on TDI for my first few weeks but it wasn't consistent enough and I was constantly monitoring my trade because I had no idea where it was going to retrace...

When you over complicate things, yes you may save a few pips here and there but you will also miss out on moves just because of what you 'think' will happen, especially reguarding pa. If you go through your charts and pick out trades only when pa is telling you so, look at how many others you wont of taken which ended up in nice profit.

Stoploss? Like big e says either no stop loss or place it at top/bottom of each swing. Except always have an emergency 100 pip sl which would be highly rare and unusual to get hit.

Trading tdi to tdi (realtime movement of tdi, not candle to candle) will get you out with little pips when tdi flattens/hooks when trade goes the wrong way (or seems to). Plenty of trades will be in and out with small profit or loss, but in general you will catch the big moves and ride them all the way.

Im not having a go at these people discussing exra tactics but its a little annoying this great thread turned into something else which doesn't relate to the title in the thread. Its now trading made complex.

btw I havent just started, I traded for six months when this technique was being developed from the craig harris method on a different thread and that was along time ago!

Alright, well that response is fair enough. I just erased a whole response about making an EA to take every cross and exiting when the watchdog angle was @ 0.00 and running it on all the pairs but I don't want to make a big deal... Honestly if your maintaining profitability based on what your doing then I'm happy for you and honestly, if you are you should post up some of your trades sometime...

how are you doing just using that indi,I would be very interested in your outcome.I am a newbie and was gearing up to start really understanding this system but just recently I have noticed a few people saying it doesn't work.Could you enlighten me to your progress.I know quite a few people saying that you really need to understand price action as this will filter out the trades that are potential losers this surely could not be a bad thing at all.How are other people doing with this system ?LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Basic understanding of price action is neccessery I think, but just the basics. Yesterday I would have taken 3 trades just based on the crosses, 2 would have been big losses and one would have been a winner. But because I took price action into considiration, I filterd out the 2 bad ones and took only the good one. But overall, simplicity is the key here, I'm making profits based only on what big e thought. I recommend reading a pdf attached here on the thread called the best of big e. Read it 3 or 4 times.

Won't be trading today, flying to Rio. Catch u all tomorrow.

Here are two trades from today that worked quite well. I think it is important to post trades in order to maintain the integrity of the approach used in this thread.

In working with the components of this thread, I made a modification using one of the indicators that someone suggested, and which I've been aware of for a while. I support the viewpoint of those who have posted extensively in this thread about the importance of being able to correctly read price action. Without this fundamental skill, it is useless to believe that any indicator, no matter how many colors or whistles it has, will ever offer you any assistance in making money. Remember that every indicator derives from price or volume, or a combination thereof. The indicator that you will see on my charts is a %b which is basically a volatility index. It tells you how far prices are from a Bollinger band. I have set the indicator to a very short interval in order to detect short term volatility. When it is rising, it identifies an increase in volatility which is what a trader wants when entering the market.

That alone is not a signal or a setup, but used along with a proper analysis of price, and a fair reading of the TDI (which is just a 13 period RSI on typical price (H+L+C)/30 and a 7 period EMA or LWMA of the RSI), the crosses can assist a trader in finding reasonable places to enter the market.

I have also found that crosses that occur around the 50 level TDI tend to agree with indecision in the market. Often those crosses take place AFTER there has been some sort of correction.

I have also found that waiting for closes is much more effective than to attempt to get in ahead of a cross of an indicator - but to each his own. If that entry method works for anyone.. then who am I to say?

Those are just my two (tired at the end of the day) cents. It is important to have an overall trading plan which includes knowing what the setup looks like; knowing what the trigger is and how to act on it; and then knowing how you plan to manage your trade, and take your money.

Hi all,

attached are 2 trades I took yesterday based on price action first then a entry with the Tdi and 5ema. Audusd and usdcad are the 2 pairs I took trades on. But from reading a post from Chewz, I do beileve this has been taken away from the simple method by the creator, but I do remember reading he states to always use PA along with your entries. So based on this I will not be posting on this thread no longer as to not complicate the method to new traders.

Well I traded with this last year and in 2010 then went abroad for 6 months and have recently came back and started trading again. I've been asking questions here since alot has changed on thread since then.

Basically you need a tdi which updates/moves in real time. So you can see the very last bit on the tdi move with the candles. I enter on a tdi cross....and thats it!. Sometimes i may look at pa but generally I dont because as I said before you can look at something and its telling you not to enter the trade, when in fact it does the opposite. Im careful with exits I monitor the trade throughout the day (check charts every hour) and if the tdi begins to flat or hook over I exit the trade and wait for the next.

This can get messy as theres plenty of trades your in and out of with little profit or little loss. I'm not really interested in these but I have to take them so I can catch the big moves when they happen. If you trade like this the little trades at end of month will probably have you breaking even - small bit of profit, small bit of loss. But you catch every single big move.

Like I said I've only recently started trading again but here are some results from last year, and actually I missed 2 huge moves that month due to being out so all trades are mainly these little moves in and out the market. To be fair, it was very good for these little movements, but you get the idea

Thats remarkable have you any other months to show.Is that 100% in nearly over a month all with the TDI rules in place,could this be right and you missed some big moves ?Well done.
