yes. Goldman and I have the same candlesticks and I use FXCM.. so it's the same.

Like I wrote earlier - I rarely use 4h candles in my trading. My methodology is more event driven and based on fundamental information of markets. I use TA to see current trends and levels to enter.

ADD: Mostly I use candles to create nice mood

Slept in and missed a nice move overnight. See what I get for going out and riding too long But it was a beautiful spring day and could not resist to put some milage on the bike.

So today's question is; Will NY continue the move down or will they retaliate? 8:30 EST Unemployment Claims will most likely set the tone for the day. I'm still hoping for some additional move down and there's no indication right now on my charts showing clear direction. We are right between Daily S1 and DM2 and have been ranging there for the last 2 hours with 1.3155 as support.

Time to grab another coffee just before 8:30 news...

Glad you enjoyed your ride. I heard you guys had 20 degree temperatures overnight. Nice

So here we go. US Jobless claims at 348K.. 5k less than last week and 5k less than expected for this week. NY should be USD bullish but it may be offset by USD flowing to other foreign risk assets. Hard to judge how it will all flow in and out. Have to wait till NY opening bell. Futures tend to go contra but not always.

Euro Shock: Currencies Trading on Data

No, your eyes don’t deceive you. Something very strange is indeed happening in the currency markets Thursday: exchange rates are moving around based on economic fundamentals.

Shocking, we know.

A few weeks ago, the only things traders cared about was what European Union Economic Commissioner Olli Rehn was about to say, what percentage of creditors had signed up (voluntarily, you understand) to the Big Fat Greek Bond Swap and whether there’s any correlation between the color of Angela Merkel’s velvet jackets and the euro’s direction. (Her darker jackets tend to signal euro weakness, but more study is needed here.)

Suddenly, now that the Greek bailout has gone through, we have been flung back to 2006.

To an extent, it’s as if investors are scrambling around for signs of a new crisis. The “Chinese hard landing” believers leapt on news of a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing activity Thursday, whacking down the currencies of economies that provide resources to the Asian powerhouse. The Australian dollar topped that list, but the New Zealand and Canadian dollars also felt the blow, and the South African rand swooned.

OK so that’s China. Fluctuations in its economy always send ripples elsewhere in the financial markets.

But then it all started to get really strange when Europe started to release its purchasing-managers index data. Over the past few months, many traders have happily overlooked these numbers, judging that it’s much more important to trade the euro based on the chance of a disorderly Greek default, or the dissolution of the common currency altogether.

Today, the French reading was poor, and the euro fell. The German reading was poor, and the euro fell.

Topping it all off, sterling fell on poor U.K. retail sales. Retail sales! They’ve barely edged onto traders’ radar screens for months.

Let’s not get carried away. The euro crisis isn’t over, and it still matters. Aside from the growth concerns, a rise in Spanish bond yields has the market on edge Thursday.

So, the good news is that life is a bit more predictable. Data releases land at specified times–organized chaos, if you will–whereas European crisis summits have a habit of producing statements in the middle of the night, and at times that no one can foresee.

The bad news is that the signs of a slowdown in global growth are building up, and investors are getting nervous. Hardly a return to the pre-crisis good old days.

Ouch! ... Thanks, if I had only known that before! I'd been uninstalling & re-installing MT4 demos from different brokers after expiry each time till eventually my system would'nt install any MT4 .exe files for me anymore ...anyone ever experience something like that? ... been using Netdania Daily FX for charts since.

Never heard of that. Perhaps your last MT4 un-install failed.

Try downloading FXCM's MT4 and try again.

The NY opening bell has rung and the horses have left the gates.

Looks like GBP, CAD, AUD and NZD are already lagging across the board.

USD is right up front with the Euro. Neck and neck... Who will be the winner?

My bets are on USD.

Thanks PT but tried that and a lot more before I mentioned it here and have trawled the net for many weeks for solutions but nada..just MT4 and only MT4 will not install, all other programs no problem...will have to probably re-install windows. At least I know better now for the future ...thanks again.

try uninstalling all of them, and then go deleting mt4 folders from your program files..I have 5 mt4 installed, 3 from the same broker, and the other 2 from others, with different time zones; if this doesn't work, then you should install windows again

Most likely no need to go through the trouble of re-installing Windows.

If you're computer savvy, just delete all MT4 related entries from your system registry.

If not, you can download and run this registry cleaner. It really works well with corrupted and failed un-installs.

There are many other registry cleaners available also but be very careful as some of them are actually MalWare. This one I know to be okay.

Thanks GFX and have done all that already too, uninstalling, manually deleting Program Folder files, registry scans etc etc, am resigned now to re-installing windows but been putting it off cause of disruption with possible loss of internet problems. Thanks Guys but unfair of me to hog the thread with my computer problems, and I wanna let you concentrate on the day jobs...thanks again to all & gd luck.

it was predictibol thet after the big move down the markt will consolidet
for relativety long priod of time. if 1.3180 wod be borken to the long side
,i think we going to 1.3210, and from there down agein.
