Spanish Bond Yields March Higher On Fiscal Worries

LONDON -- Spanish and Italian bond yields continued to march higher Thursday as growing concerns over fiscal slippage in Spain and weak economic readings from Asia and Europe weighed on demand for lower rated euro-zone government bonds.

The 10-year Spanish bond yield rose by 11 basis points to 5.49%, closing in on the 5.50% level that hasn't been breached since January. The cost to insure Spanish government debt against default was five basis points wider at 421/429 basis points, according to Markit, the widest levels since early January.

The corresponding Italian bond yield rose by eight basis points to 5.07%, according to Tradeweb.

Spanish bonds extended a slide that was triggered earlier this month after the country was chided by euro-zone authorities over the government's unilateral decision to revise up its budget deficit target for this year. With concerns over Greece abating after a crucial debt exchange went through, Spain is increasingly being seen as the next flashpoint in the euro zone.

The economy is stuttering, unemployment is rampant, and the market is losing confidence in the government's ability to mend its finances. If the sell-off in Spanish bonds were to accelerate, Italy might not be left unscathed either.

Adding to the weakness Thursday were data that showed manufacturing activity in China and Germany slumped, blunting some of the optimism stemming from encouraging economic data in the U.S. recently.

A pronounced global slowdown will likely exacerbate the already dismal economic prospects in the euro-zone periphery, making it increasingly difficult for countries to get their finances on a more sustainable footing.

yes,chart pattern - supply demand would still be same mate,but am trade based on candle formation now and the facts is i see a lot good signal on your chart


now am trying with forexltd (not promoting ya) anyone experience with that broker ?

Hey brother how are you? When I am thinking about the problem its irritates me ... we are trying to monetorize the information but the information is not coming same to us! My chart candle is not same as yours! How pathetic it is! Am i right?

I don't know I think we need to live with that. Example, candle pattern of a 5 digit broker and 4 digit broker will not be same. I am fine with the candles I have, since I try picking the High / Low or S/D ~ S/R.

btw, what is your expert opinion about it?

if you keep using it, it lasts forever. Just open and close a trade once in a while.

Also, if it expires, just create a new one. All you have to do is select "Open an account" from the file menu and you're back up and running. same charts, same lines and indicators. You lose nothing.
