Hi my mt4 pltform wont let me login, i contacted customer services who said i need to delete it and re-install the newer version.

But i have all my charts set up and plotted with s&r, trendlines etc etc how can i save these on my old platform and then transfer them to my new one?

They are telling me i cant, and i have to re-plot every line manually! that cant be right surely?!

You should be able save to a new profile without logging in.

Go into your old platform and save your charts too a new profile or if you did last time you used MT4 then you would transfer the profile to the new one.

All trendlines etc should be just as you left then in the old platform.

since u can't login, that's pretty tough.

try this:
go to yourMT4profiles
copy all profiles found there, specially the default profile folder. if u are lucky, your default folder contains your old charts.

load the necessary amount of data history on your new MT4 charts. (for all/most pairs u have on your old charts)
paste the default folder to a new MT4 installation, on the same location (that is, inside yourNewMT4profiles ).

IF you are successful, be sure save a new Profile. this ensures u have all your settings (charts, trendlines, S/R, etc) saved.

we were typing at the same time...

that's possible assuming his old charts are seen once he loads his MT4.
best advice!

Thanks guys

I did it this way, i was able to see charts on old MT4. So i saved the profile again and renamed it "zero"

i think took this "zero" folder and put it in a completely different MT4 broker. I went into the folders, found the "profiles" folder and then cut and paste my "zero" folder into that location.....

Now when i open this different mt4 demo platform i can see all my charts as i did in my real broker....so thats good enough isnt it?

I mean there is nothing else i need to do but to transfer this "zero" folder to the new mt4 platform when i download it...will i?
