Thanks for that PT I'll bookmark it for future reference, did you check the website mts, I think it's called that , it's the website from which the ecb obtains it's information on bonds from, they offer a four hour look at bond yields, giving the data on a spreadsheet.. I have absolutely no idea how to de-cypher what the data means however perhaps you will find some use I will link you this evening when I get home..

Hi Rod,
Those spreadsheets are pretty much useless for your purposes unless you want to put a lot of extra work into massaging the data.
The data is bond issues from many (but not all) EZ member states and only indicates the issue number, maturity date, issue yield, current yield, etc

If you're gonna do that much work, you may as well just compile the data yourself from charts on Bloomberg... such as this one...

Click on the 1 year chart and enable "tracking" under the settings menu. Then just put the cross hairs at the end of each month and jot down the price.

That way you don't have to decypher anything.. just make 12 entries x 17 member states and you're done. That should take you no longer than an hour to collect the data and maybe 5 or 10 minutes to create your own charts.

my 1.3120 short stopped out at -2 pips after massive slippage from +5 pips

It seems a high cpi was already priced in

Short lived yes but still living right now. I see a very strong possibility of 3160/70 on the immediate horizon. core cpi came in at 0.1 m/m vs the expected 0.2 So that's USD negative for a bit.
Once we reach 3165, I'll be hitting the sell button, but not yet. If it doesn't make it there, I'l hit it as it shows me a reversal signal downwards.

ADD: nothing goes in a straight line. You cannot exhale forever... at some point you have to inhale

Looks like price was pumped up right before NY open. MAybe we see fast dive in few minutes - or not. Fasten your seat belts, gentleman

Hey guys. I honestly saw the shot up coming this am. For no other reason than I was expecting the Greek bailout to have major affects on the EUR/USD pair. However, I was half expecting to see this yesterday. So I have two noobie questions.

1. How much impact did or would the Greek bailout have on this pair.

2. Since it was announced yesterday (or thats when I saw the news on it first) will the affect be delayed. If so by how long?

3160...would be nice, I see the price hitting my 60 sma 3137 (4hr chart) seems to be slowing, then again could get a quick pop to 3150 where I will add another short, additional short around 3190-3200, hopefull for a nice return...buy/sell either way we can make some pips...

The Greek bailout had no impact on this coz it was priced in long ago. Had the news yesterday been that the IMF were NOT going to contribute to the bailout, then that would have been negative as it would have gone contra to expectation.

The pop up was based on the US core m/m CPI data coming in at 0.1% vs the expected 0.2% As a result, some USD bulls covered their positions sending the USD back down. However, IMO this is only a needed correction. The USD will be back on the bull train in no time and the E/U will be well on its way to re-test the 2012 lows.

Will the correction complete today? Who know? but either way is possible. My gut feeling is that NY will take it higher but that's only a gut feeling. I have a sell limit order at 1.3165 area so we'll see what happens. If it doesn't get that high, no problem. I'll just jump on at the next opportunity. As you know there are several opportunities per day in this business.

Price well rejected by the TL so I am just waiting for another bull and then again if price will hold by the TL then I will trigger my sell button...
