Dear CFTC Staff,

Hello, I am a current JPMorgan Chase employee. This is an open letter to all commissioners and regulators. I am emailing you today b/c I know of insider information that will be damning at best for JPMorgan Chase. I have decided to play the role of whistleblower b/c I no longer have faith and belief that what we are doing for society is bringing value to people. I am now under the opinion that we are actually putting hard working Americans unaware of what lays ahead at extreme market risk. This risk is unnecessary and will lead to wide-scale market collapse if not handled properly. With the release of Mr. Smith’s open letter to Goldman, I too would like to set the record straight for JPM as well. I have seen the disruptive behavior of superiors and no longer can say that I look up to employees at the ED/MD level here at JPM. Their smug exuberance and arrogance permeates the air just as pungently as rotting vegetables. They all know too well of the backdoor crony connections they share intimately with elected officials and with other institutions. It is apparent in everything they do, from the meager attempts to manipulate LIBOR, therefore controlling how almost all derivatives are priced to the inherit and fraudulent commodities manipulation. They too may have one day stood for something in the past in the client-employee relationship. Does anyone in today’s market really care about the protection of their client?

From the ruthless and scandalous treatment of MF Global client asset funds to the excessive bonuses paid by companies with burgeoning liabilities. Yes, we at JPMorgan that are in the know are fearful of a cascading credit event being triggered in Greece as they have hidden derivatives in excess of $1 Trillion USD. We at JPMorgan own enough of these through counterparty risk and outright prop trading that our entire IB EDG space could be annihilated within a few short days. The last ten years has been market by inflexion point after inflexion point with the most notable coming in 2008 after the acquisition of Bear.

I wish to remain anonymous as of now as fear of termination mounts from what I am about to reveal. Robert Gottlieb is not my real name; however he is a trader that is involved in a lawsuit for manipulative trading while working with JPMorgan Chase. He was acquired during our Bear Stearns acquisition and is known to be the notorious person shorting in the silver future market from his trading space, along with Blythe Masters, his IB Global boss. However, with that said, we are manipulating the silver futures market and playing a smaller (but still massively manipulative) role in manipulating the gold futures market. We have a little over a 25% (give or take a percentage) position in the short market for silver futures and by your definition this denotes a larger position than for speculative purposes or for hedging and is beyond the line of manipulation.

On a side note, I do not work directly with accounts that would have been directly impacted by the MF Global fiasco but I have heard through other colleagues that we have involvement in the hiding of client assets from MF Global. This is another fraudulent effort on our part and constitutes theft. I urge you to forward that part of the investigation on to the respective authorities.

There is something else that you may find strange. During month-end December, we were all told by our managers that this was going to be a dismal year in terms of earnings and that we should not expect any bonuses or pay raises. Then come mid-late January it is made known that everyone received a pay raise and/or bonus, which is interesting b/c just a few weeks ago we were told that this was not likely and expected to be paid nothing in addition to base salary. January is right around the time we started increasing our short positions quite significantly again and this most recent crash in gold and silver during Bernanke’s speech on February 29th is of notable importance, as we along with 4 other major institutions, orchestrated the violent $100 drop in Gold and subsequent drops in silver.

As regulators of the free people of this country, I ask you to uphold the most important job in the world right now. That job is judge and overseer of all that is justice in the most sensitive of commodity markets. There are many middle-income people that invest in the physical assets of silver, gold, as well as mining stocks that are being financially impacted in a negative way b/c of our unscrupulous shorts in the precious metals commodity sector. If you read the COT with intent you will find that commercials (even though we have no business being in the commercial sector, which should be reserved for companies that truly produce the metal) are net short by a long shot in not only silver, but gold.

It is rather surprising that what should be well known liabilities on our balance sheet have not erupted into wider scale scrutinization. I call all honest and courageous JPMorgan employees to step up and fight the cronyism and wide-scale manipulation by reporting the truth. We are only helping reality come to light therefore allowing a real valuation of our banking industry which will give investors a chance to properly adjust without being totally wiped out. I will be contacting a lawyer shortly about this matter, as I believe no other whistleblower at JPMorgan has come forward yet. Our deepest secrets lie within the hands of honest employees and can be revealed through honest regulators that are willing to take a look inside one of America’s best kept secrets. Please do not allow this to turn into another Enron.

wats happenin wid money flow Kno? as I learned frm u, if 10 yr yield down thn ppl r buyin US bonds, mens money into USD n risk off. It would be risk on wid yield UP. now yield is UP and USD is gettin stronger. UJ 84. but risk is not on, or at least its lagging by days with 10 yr yields. May be this relationship of money flow is disturbed by central banks actions. Any thoughts

You have the understanding that as we have now that the US Bonds are selling off as the Yields go up. That part is clear. Let us ask ourselves where is the Risk On and where is the Risk Off ? The PERCEPTION for the moment is that based on recent US data and the FED'S Public Position is that Risks have been diminished for Inflation and they will HOLD OFF for the moment on more STIMULUS... That means MONEY PRINTING which usually is GOOD for Equities as MONEY flows there and in the PAST the Normal CORRELATION is that EUR/USD goes up with Risk On.

However now that there is STRONG DOUBTS that the DEBT problem is settled in Greece or the other PIIGS economies the EURO is behaving different.

Then we move over to the Yen as I had stated about two weeks ago had changed from STRENGTH at 76.00 to where it is now at 83.48...

There HAD been a CORRELATION between EUR/JPY and EUR/USD in that they usually MOVE UP or Down together. Now however in that Japan appears to be having it's own problems with DEBT and the Economy USD/JPY is getting weaker.

THE POINT NOW THAT NEEDS TO BE UNDERSTOOD is WHERE is Risk On and Where is Risk Off ?

In the Euro's case RISK IS VERY MUCH ON so that causes it to be WEAK against the normal CORRELATION with Risk On.

In the case of USD/JPY it is not in favor as a Carry Currency or a SAFE Currency to go to for protection from Risk.

So WE have new Factors in PLAY for the moment. Now we TURN to GOLD and the US Dollar Index itself. Since the Euro makes UP 57.2% of the US Dollar Index then that helps the US Dollar be STONGER as it went over 80.00 in recent days and weeks. The REASON also that is happening is that SINCE it Appears there is IMPROVEMENT in the US Economy as seen by the LAST NFP of 227,000 with the REVISION for January 2012 going from 243,000 to 286,000. The APPEARANCE or PERCEPTION that there is STRENGTH in the USA is the EXACT GOAL of Bernake and the FED as we head towards the FIRST TUESDAY in November and either a NEW President of the USA or an OLD one who PROMISED CHANGE.

Now OVER to Gold which is weakened short term as the US Dollar Index gets STRONGER and the YIELDS on the US Bonds go UP as Risk IS ON as it relates to investing in the USA.

There of course is always the HIDDEN AGENDA of the World's Central Banks to SHORT the PAPER Gold Market on the COMEX while buying the ACTUAL GOLD for their PROFIT as they continue to DESTROY their FIAT CURRENCIES as both the ECB and the FED has brought their BALANCE SHEETS to Over THREE TRILLION DOLLARS in Each Case.

The recent LTRO ONE and LTRO TWO which is Europe's version of QE One and QE Two. They have LENT recently to 800 Banks over 600 Billion at 1% money for Three Years and INSTEAD of LENDING it out to help the Economies there in Europe the Banks are parking the money with the ECB at a Interest Rate of .25% which means they are losing .75%.

They NEED the Money to be ready to COVER their BAD DEBTS which they PRETEND they DO NOT HAVE even though they have by holding BAD PAPER of the PIIGS.

The Canadian Dollar is STRONGER at .9929 as the Better Economy in the USA means more business for the Canadian Economy and of COURSE it is helped by the RISK ON Price of Oil because of IRAN and matters of that nature.

Ask Yourself NOW by watching the MONEY FLOW where is the MONEY FLOWING to and Why ?

I Hope to be 69 this Year and Live to 96 which will bring me to the Year 2040 and Maybe, I Still Might Be Posting Here with Piptrapper and my Grandson (ADOPTED) Buma who G-D willing will be 43 and probably married with children and Life Goes On...

Being a Friday, which is typically a pre-weekend profit grab, one would expect the equity markets to cash in on some of the gains we've seen across all the major indices

With the E/U pair decoupled from other risk assets, what would a profit taking in the equity indices mean for the E/U? Will the Euro bears be covering their shorts? or will they keep hitting that sell button with a giant hammer?

Yesterday's correction to the upside suggests to me that the profit taking in the currency side has already started. Obviously this was more invoked by a softening (or correction if you like) of the USD bullish bias and not necessarily a correction of the Euro bearish bias.

Therefore the question remains... Which way Waldo?

This is a potential inverse H/S formation in the making.
If we do not come close to the low, we will still be in indecision territory.

However, it is worth noting that we are now sitting below the daily pivot of 1.3065 If the current H1 candle closes below the daily pivot, chances are we will not go back above. As usual, time will tell.

The more time E/U stays under 1.3080, more sale pressure / order will create on the pair. Next week we may play between 1.27xx -- 1.29xx.

I fully agree.
It is becoming apparent that the London session is not going to move this pair too much. Probably just range. If that turns out to be the case, then we'll just have to see what NY wants to do.

No - I don't mind. The Horn of Plenty interest everybody

Me and my partners are running own developed trading platform enabling several strategies in several accounts. Also it enables several different broker connections - FIX, MT, MBTrading etc. I've worked as a project manager since 2008 in this project and currently I'm making my living on concentrating to trading myself (minor results) and tending platform (better results).

System is quite heavy duty MS SQLServer based system and running online 24/7 and do not fit for home trader. Also management is not easy since it is mostly tinkering with parameters and one have to know what he's doing.

Strategies are "robots". We have few different types: Price action based grid type, Indicator based, contra based and few other. Why I call them robots is that they have ability to modify their strategy to different market situations and act accordingly - so they are changing strategy depending on how price moves.

I'm sorry to say - it is not open source stuff and I'm not about to, willing or even allowed to share it to anyone. That is the reason I rarely advertise this here.

Hanging here is just a spare time fun and I like to read PT's and Kno's excellent market reviews and opinions on market. This forum is excellent source for large picture to the markets and sentiment of where price in our favorite pair is expected to move.

In freaking Idea... totally puzzled. I shorted and I might get some 70 pips on this but over all - cannot say. This is a turning point up or down.

We are quite close to mid-february lows and there is no good or bad news on a market, unless some Super-Mario Pops up or something. Currently it is all technicals and sentiment.

After banker's tirade, what next for Goldman? The buzz yesterday centered on Greg Smith's very-public resignation letter from Goldman Sachs (GS), in which Smith used The New York Times as a platform to launch a blistering attack on Goldman's "toxic and destructive" culture. Also making the rounds was a blog post by James Whittaker explaining why he left Google (GOOG). If you haven't read the two letters yet, you should (Smith, Whittaker). In their own ways, each is going after his ex-employer for no longer putting its customers first. But now that ex-Goldman exec Smith has had his Jerry Maguire moment, the real question is whether his letter to the masses will have any effect on Goldman's business.

Cisco in talks with NDS. Cisco (CSCO) is in advanced talks to buy NDS for $5B, according to a report in Israel's Calcalist financial newspaper. That purchase price is roughly a 35% premium to NDS' value when it delisted from the stock exchange in 2009. NDS, which develops software for multi-channel television networks, is jointly owned by News Corp. (NWS) and P-E firm Permira.
Treasury to sell some bank holdings. The Treasury said yesterday it plans to sell its preferred stock position in six community banks as it works to unwind bailout programs. The Treasury will conduct public auctions to sell its stock in Banner Corp (BANR), First Financial Holdings (FFCH), MainSource Financial (MSFG), Seacoast Banking (SBCF), Wilshire Bancorp (WIBC) and WSFS Financial (WSFS).
UBS cuts bonus pool. UBS (UBS) cut its 2011 bonus pool by 40% to 2.6B Swiss francs ($2.8B) to reflect tough market conditions that hurt results at its investment bank. CEO Sergio Ermotti's overall compensation was 6.35M Swiss francs, of which 4.6M francs was a bonus.
China's hard landing. China is already in a hard landing, according to Adrian Mowat, JPMorgan's chief Asian and emerging-market strategist. "If you look at the Chinese data, you should stop debating about a hard landing... Car sales are down, cement production is down, steel production is down, construction stocks are down. It’s not a debate anymore, it’s a fact." Separately, inside sources said China is easing lending curbs at three of the nation's four biggest banks after data showed new loan growth at a four-year low.
Apple keeps climbing. Apple (AAPL) gained another 3.8% yesterday, hitting a new high of $589.58. The behemoth is now worth almost $550B, nearly twice as much as Microsoft. In addition to a bullish Morgan Stanley note early yesterday, shares also got a boost from Canaccord's Mike Walkley, who reported shipping wait times for the new iPad have risen to 2-3 weeks. Walkley now expects Apple to sell 65.6M iPads this year, and 90.6M next year.
Samsung claim rejected by court. A Dutch court rejected an attempt by Samsung (SSNLF.PK) to get the iPhone and iPad banned, stating the patents Samsung was asserting must be licensed on FRAND terms. Of interest is the court's claim that Apple (AAPL) doesn't need a FRAND license since it uses Qualcomm (QCOM) chips, and Qualcomm has licensed Samsung's patents. Such a ruling could give Apple motivation to continue using Qualcomm chips in future iPhones and iPads.
Gartner raises chip estimates. Gartner expects chip sales to rise 4% in 2012 to $316B. That's above a prior forecast for 2.2% growth, and is the result of growing optimism that demand will begin rebounding in Q2 following a tough inventory correction. DRAM sales are expected to rise slightly after falling 25% last year, while NAND flash memory sales are expected to rise 18%.
Corporate cash pile grows. U.S. companies are sitting on a massive $1.2T cash pile, Moody’s said in a new report, and more than half of it is stashed overseas. The tax code is to blame and it will get worse without “permanent tax reform that lowers taxes on overseas profits,” Moody’s wrote. Apple (AAPL) is a major factor: In 2011, overall corporate cash would actually have decreased by $6B if not for Apple’s $46B increase.
Fitch affirms U.K. rating. Fitch affirmed the U.K.'s credit rating at AAA, but revised its outlook to negative from stable. The agency had mostly positive things to say about the country's attempts at budget reform, but cautioned there is "very limited fiscal space to absorb further adverse economic shocks."
SNB holds rates steady. The Swiss National Bank held rates steady at 0-0.25%, as expected, and said it "will continue to enforce the minimum exchange rate of CHF 1.20 per euro with the utmost determination." The SNB cautioned that in the "Swiss mortgage and real estate market for residential property there are growing signs of imbalances. Should these imbalances increase further, this could lead to considerable risks to financial stability."
RBI leaves rates unchanged. The Reserve Bank of India kept its repurchase rate at 8.5%, as expected, after inflation accelerated. RBI reiterated that future actions will be toward lowering rates, though remaining inflation risks "will influence both the timing and magnitude of future rate actions.”
