Some people like the signaller, some the matrix, some like the autorefresher some don't, its really a matter of personal choice. Think of it this way, if you are not sure of the signals yourself, or you want to have other confirmations before you take the trade, for instance heiken ashi or a higher timeframe confirmation then use one of the signallers, don't use 1.8 its too buggy, 1.7 will give you the tp and sl levels, 1.9 has more confirmations if you want them and also takes up less room on the chart. If you only want to work on the timeframe...

Hmm...I've the Symbhonie 1.9 running at the moment on 3 different charts 5M 1H 4H for AU/USD however when I flick between the 3 charts they all show different signals ie in 5M chart the M1 showed a buy signal but then when I flick to the 1H chart it isn't!!

A lot of consolidation around this 3320 area for the past few months. Looking to getting NFP out of the way so I can get back to work next Monday.

I am really getting tired of the 1.30s.....the EurUSD has been inside the 1.30s for the past 8 months! I want to play in a new playground....this one has become boring. Can we play in the 1.20s please?? They have new swings!!!!

Olivia, Yelena,
I'm trying to pick a swing low on the 1Hr chart. Is Daily S1 too ambitious?
Cheers,

I know you only asked the girls () but I have the daily S1 at 3173. Now, if you draw the fib as in the attached pic......look where the 61.8 fib is.

I don't think it's too ambitious, but I'm a guy.....so who knows?......

I'm sorry realjumper. I didn't mean to exclude anyone .... especially our Resident Guru

I'm trying for a TP1 but for a Friday I think 1.618 would be rather ambitious- as you've pointed out I should try 0.618 instead.
Thanx for the thumbs up

Also had another sell signal on hourly chart, but it may be wise to wait 3225 to be cleared (or low of hourly candle). I see no hurdle until 3165 if that level is cleared.

roobii,

You should not be trading real money....I hope you are not. Because if you do not understand the basic functions of Metatrader....you should not be here trading. You need to be learning Metatrader first.

I recommend you read this website. It will help you to learn the functions of Metatrader 4. (drawing fib points is a basic function of the trading platform)

If you go to the Insert menu there are a number of Fibs there. A retracement Fib for the previous days price action is one used quite often (from the previous days highs and lows). On a daily chart you should look at trend lines and have a fib for the swings.

Those aren't the Renko bricks are they? Do they help keep you in the trend longer?

lol...man... maybe i should rephrase the question.... im not as bad as a noob as i sound... but here is the trade in question im in....

normally i trade off reversals off snr zones... but i got a 15 signal to go in sooner at 1.32476 and i set it to the fib tp... now i kno how to do fib retr and how that works...and where the buttons are located in meta...cough cough evaluator...lol

but i was talking more in the likes of how yelena does her own fibs to get get her sl/tp when using 1.9 .... since i tried doing a combination and didn't get the exact figures that 1.7 drew out...

History lesson time:

If you remember I made a post concerning the theory that EURUSD is in an expanding triangle formation. (see post #7158)

Now I want you to take alook at today's sceenshot 8 days later. Look at how the fibs line up perfectly where the EURUSD stops between the 61.8 and 50 fib...(normal turning point for Elliott) and now look where we are heading. 1.28550!!!

The price action appears to be respect this theory and by the price action turns.

Just some food for thought.

Evaluator.:nerd:

P.S. Dramatic Central Bank events and actions can change this without notice and I am a novice at Elliott so do not trust my judgement....You have to make your own decision.
