EU and Market Comment:

Done! EU sent above 1.3300. One more day coming with USD high impact release. At this point, with so many USD high impact releases, and starting three weeks ago with an overload of them, it is obvious the market is not bearish on USD, not with this PA. If the market were bearish, after all of this, the price would already have soared.

The market is taking the time to coax traders into anti-USD positions so it can increase it's pro-USD positions. That is why the market keeps nudging the price in the anti-USD direction,.....to keep up the charade of being bullish in that direction. With all the time being spent on this, my guess is the market is hugely going pro-USD, and that the coming pro-USD move will be a big one. However, I could be totally wrong on this, and it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong, either.

We stick to SonicR setups. And this is a time to be very picky. The only other thing I might add is, just to be safe, don't be in an anti-USD trade over the weekend. The market might start next week off with a pro-USD gap, and then be well on it's way, leaving anti-USD traders way out in the cold!

Yes PA might keep going without a pullback, and you can enter a few pips beyond the end of that strong candle. On the other hand, a pullback might actually result in a new wave formation, with a better EP later. In any case, it is always best to stick to the rule.

But look. Even after this first strong selloff of the day, the market quickly worked the price back up. It is preparing for another, I think.

Remember, tomorrow is another USD high impact release. Until then, the market is just screwing around, trying to coax traders to go long so it can build an even bigger short position. And not just for AU, but also EU, GU and the reverse for such as UCad and UChf.

Should've taken the SonicR long when it presented itself during LO earlier today but I was bearish biased so I refused to take it. I should trade what I see and not what I think. Have to keep this is mind!

TAH, why is this week so difficult to trade? There are high impact USD news releases each week so what makes this week so special. That the news releases are not causing any notable movements? I'm rather confused.

Using EU as an example:

For several months now, the USD releases have been of positive nature overall. Things are improving steadily. On the other hand, the euro has been practically on the brink of hell for most of the time! Yet, no matter how bad euro news was, the market pumped. No matter how good the USD news was, the market pumped. For two months the market denied the reality that the euro sucks compared to the US dollar, based on the basic economies involved.

At some point things will reverse. And we may be at that time now, considering all the positive USD releases that have flooded in over the past three weeks. The market might need a lot of time, however, to unwind it's long positions and switch to short positions. Frankly, that is because the market needs the time to sucker others to take over the long positions so it can go short. And that is why the market continually re-pumps the price. The market is deceiving traders into believing the market itself is bullish on EU. When enough traders have been successfully deceived and the market has completed escaping out from under it's long position, converting it to a short position, then the market will pull the plug on EU. And the price drop could be fast and furious, to quickly trap all those that are long into steep losses, which means the market quickly enjoys steep gains. When the losers give up and close, the market will use that liquidity to close shorts and claim those steep gains. This, after all, is exactly how the market works to make it's profits.

No, this was not a good setup. Why?
1. The Dragon was not angled down!
2. The first Wave leg should go thru the Dragon. It didn't. Actually, we traded the first leg of what might have become a nice Wave. It didn't.

Don't feel badly. I too made this mistake. I was watching with the M5 Dragon on M15 chart, thinking I was doing myself a favor. Nope! And now that additional EU trade of mine is down over 30 pips.

Sonikers, I have to be straight about this. Subjectively (because I don't have stats at hand), I believe I have been most profitable when trading classic Sonic R.; no asian session trades, no late US session trades, no M5 trading, and no fibos used to justify early entries. Just classic Sonic R. And my feeling is that if I were to have the stats, I'd find out that I am a lot more right than I even suspect!

BTW, yachli, you can use the MT4 icon "A" to add your text. Much easier!

Is this trade ok? one rule is not meet since we are out of London and US section, but is it ok to trade like this during the correct sessions?

not quite yet you might want to wait for another leg. Dragon is still towards 3 o'clock.

See I think I have one MAIN problem.. buying low and selling high. When I dont see a wave pattern and price just shoots up.. like this morning. I get antsy and hop in the trade and by that time it's already over.

How can I prevent myself from doing this?? I've had very mediocre success so far (22% in 3 months) and just need to get over this last hump of WHEN to get into a trade and why. After that price shoot up I felt inclined to buy after a pullback which I did but now I see that it's printing lower highs.

any suggestions?

The setup is not ok. What is the entry rule, migmac? You must wait for the first candle out of the Dragon in Wave leg #3 to complete. Then, you wait until PA moves beyond the end of that candle at least a few more pips before entering! This is basic stuff, migmac!

Looking to get in early is fine. Get a jump on the start of momentum. Dream of those extra pips profit. It is all fine,.....if you want to lose more times than not!

Sonikers, follow the Sonic R. System rule for entry!


Sometimes an early entry based on a tweaked fibo, or M5 chart, or any other method that appeals to you to squeeze out "extra gains", will work. Sometimes it won't. My belief is, based subjectively on all of my trading, is that sticking to classic Sonic R. System trading on the standard M15 chart, and following the few but important rules, is the only way to go for overall best profits. The hardest part about this elegantly simple and effective system is having the patience to follow it.
