Where is the uptrend here ? If you join max of 30/8/11, 28/10/11 you get clear down trend and that's not broken yet. What is happening now is retracement.once it reaches 1.3400 level there is very good chance it will fall again. Ie if you are talking long term trend. For scalpels it is easy catch those up and down moves. Please refer to daily chart.

cable is getting close to zone 5735ish too but need kiwi freetrade 1st

If you want to talk long term trend, try looking from 2000 to
now,doesn't look much like a down trend to me.
And something else,we are above monthly and weekly close,
primary trading trend is up IMO.
You can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.
